why don't i use a lot of IRL rami malek imagery for josh? simply put, they kind of ... look different (to me). like, yes, they have the same face, that's undeniable as rami literally was the motion capture actor and voice actor for josh, but they definitely altered him. additionally, they kept that solid in the remake (you mostly see josh just sort of rendered better versus the fixes they did for some of the others, like his hair is textured more but that's about it tbh). like, rami does have a very square face thus kind of a square head, but josh has like a huge head which compensates for a much larger body than rami (who is much more lithe). rami has a "tighter" appearance to him, whereas josh has a bulkier appearance. they had to "bulk up" rami for this role, josh is a very physical character. as the masked killer, he's also supposed to be very large and imposing, a literal threat. rami malek is also 5'7, whereas i have josh at 6'1. looking at pictures of rami malek versus josh, it's just clear as day ... they are the same, but they are very different.
actually, i'd even argue that rami's twin brother (sami malek) is actually closer to josh ironically:
(rami on the left, sami on the right)
#josh tbt#headcanon tbt#this isn't even a hc but idk where to put it sobs#it's like looking at two josh's ik but look closely and you'll see what i mean#sami is more like josh physically (to me) but rami literally is josh so IDK! but they are TWINS#which i find hilarious bc obvious reasons#and this is also why im begging for my own twin au :)) like usual#ofc im not going to be using like any other pictures of sami bc like the guy is just a teacher#but i felt it was fine to use this just as an example reference bc it's a public photo#other than that no sami content sorry :(

Soooooo sami 👉👈 since we are both Hawks girlies we are in agreement that he has the most sensitive wings right? The kind that would quiver and tremble when he cums and if you touch them at any point he's just instantly hard... and if you grip them whilst jerking him off his hips will buck off the bed and he whines. Right???? 🫣
im so sorry it took me this long to finish it. i promise i intended to make them fuck but I got carried away into the plot iiufbiufhwjf. but you ask and i serve baby.
Hawks may be the one with wings but it was you who made him fly

a.n- well this was nasty and fun to write. this is my first time writing about him so do let me know how do you like it. not proofread well im v tired its 3 am :((
6:07 pm. The tokyo skyline has painted itself in the inkish blue, the little canvas of twilight already dwindling away while you stand in the middle of the balcony taking it all. you look up into the horizon, eyes hoping to catch a speck of red and yellow to appear that will sweep you out of your waiting game.
Keigo was supposed to arrive atleast 40 mins prior, considering he gets off of duty today relatively earlier than other days. Promising an evening reserved to enjoy the pacificity of being with you – away from the worldly issues.
He usually glides through the air, slowly landing on this very balcony, pressing a fleeting kiss on your lips even before his feet touches the ground and stumbles you both inside the house. According to him – it keeps things interesting. whatever he meant. you chuckle lightly thinking about that.
Your trance of thoughts almost missed out the door knob turning and instead of the grandeur entrance of your boyfriend like some flying peter parker he is, you watch him sluggishly drag his body in.
“to what do I owe such anticlimatic entrance, darling?”, you ask amusedly, walking inside the house to greet him which soon diffuses as you realise the dark shadows under his eyes and his face worn out by a hundred years. he looks beat up.
“baby?…”, you voice in worry.
Keigo looks at you, watching him with a hint of concern playing in your eyes. you look so cute like that, he thinks. eyebrows squinted together, head slightly tilted and lips jutted together in confusion on why he’s staring at you like that. your skin looking soft and as tempting to get a feel of, decorated with a purple satin loungewear.
Keigo takes a step forward, closing the distance. your hands reach his face, stroking from the little stubble in his chin to the swell of his cheek. he melts in your touch, his hands finding your waist and pulling you against his body. Keigo hides his face in your neck, his breath comes out in short huffs, tickling you in the crevice between your shoulder and head.
“It’s been heck of a day”, he mumbles. pity courses through you when you hear his strained voice. You comb through his slightly unruly locks, scratching the base of his scalp while he holds you flush against his body , letting a hum right against your skin.
“awe..made you work a little too hard, baby?” you coo. One hand still raking through his hair while the other snakes around his waist, going upwards till it brushes against the base of his red, bright feathers.
The feel of your hands against his feathers jolts keigo up, a small grunt leaving his lips, still pressed against your neck. your fingers trail over his back, ghosting over his feathers before you carress them again.
This time,a small, breathy moan escapes from keigo. his hands on your lower back pulls you in— as if you’re not already just a layer away from being inside his skin.
You smirk, his reactions turning the cogs in your mind to play with him a bit.
“are you sensitive there, keigo?” you asked amusedly, your finger circling the base, right where his feathers sprout out. his face is hidden against your neck but you could still make out the hint of redness that spreads over the nape.
Keigo pushes himself against you, the movement causing you to feel his clothed bulge rub against your naked thigh, you let out a soft sigh. you could make out the hardness of his cock even with the clothing.
His dick strains against you and what a good girlfriend like you would do in this situation—of course help him out in his little issue.
You pull him off of you, his eyes are drooping. you press a quick kiss on his lips before looping your arms around his neck.
You feel his eyes glide downwards, taking in your figure. A flimsy tank top hugs your upper body in the most alluring way possible, your nipples hardened and poking out of the fabric like two peaks, making Keigo’s cock jump in his pants. The matching shorts rides up your thighs, exposing the full expanse of the plush skin under his golden eyes. you look so comfortable…and delectable.
“should I help you out a little? you look like you could use some” you say, a little giggle passing through your lips. his eyes are still glued on your body and you take this opportunity to slightly tug the base of his feathers, bringing his attention back to you. Keigo hisses at the sensation, his face morphing into a temporary state of pleasure whenever your fingers come in contact with his supple feathers.
“Mhmmmm”, you hear him hum before his lips clash against yours. You stand there, in the middle of your hallway as keigo makes out with you, his lips languidly playing the push or pull with your lips.
His hand reach down the back of your thigh and he hooks your whole leg around his waist, the position allowing him to rub his cock directly against your core. You moan into the kiss. Wanting more. But most importantly, making him feel wanted even more.
You push him towards the bedroom, both of your linked bodies stumbling under the low lights of the hallway till you reach there.
His body is manhandled onto the mattress, your figure hovering over his, as you keep on planting kisses all over his face, reaching his jaw. your mouth tilts against his while your tongue presses flat on his skin, savouring his taste. Keigo grabs your hips, needing something to ground himself from the sudden dominance you’re showing – not that he’s complaining at all.
“fuck baby…you’re so hot like that”, his voice raspy and laced with yearn. You hum against his jawline, your hands tugging on the tight compression shirt he has, wanting them off his body.
He obliges. Your eyes drink the way his muscles taut while he pulls the fabric off himself and tosses it somewhere you could care any less about. Your hands lay against his pecks, as your mouth finds his once again. Keigo deepens the kiss, pushing his tongue inside the cavern of your mouth, a dribble of spit escaping from your shared mouth down your chin.
Your hands reaches towards his feathers and your hands softly massages the ends of it, making keigo moan in your mouth.
“fuck…this will make me-” keigo squirms a little, his mouth dancing more fiercely with yours. his hands squeezes your ass, making your clothed core grind in circular motions over his crotch, multiplying the sensation by tenfolds in Keigo's and your body.
“Cum? just by playing with your feathers? didn’t know you were that sensitive keigo.” you tug the ruffled plumage and Keigo almost bust a nut. his head falls backwards from the treatment and his hips inadvertently buck against your core. Your pussy lips are planted right over his dick and the way he thrusts himself upwards makes you pulsate.
You look at him majestically submitting to you, so bare and vulnerable. It stirs a different feeling inside you.
Top.2 hero for the world yet so weak in the knees for you. Wings so fierce yet so tamed under your touch.
“d-don’t get too ahead, you’ll regret it, darling” you hear keigo warn in between the kisses, his voice still broken and hoarse.
“oh really? sure.” you use both your hands in work. one tugs the feathers, a little rougher than previous times, while the other hand palms his cock, rubbing the palm of your hand against the head of his cock. Keigo moans unashamedly, having his sensitive feathers played like that.
“doesn’t look like it though” his little moans vibrates against your skin
That’s what you love about keigo. He may act tough and smug but will not be slightest bit of ashamed to vocalise his feelings during sex. Starting from little grunts to lewd moans – he drawls all of them. The little shake in his voice makes your pussy throb painfully, wanting nothing more than to sink yourself in him and drown yourself in pleasure while holding him tightly within.
Your hands trail upwards towards the belt of his pants, peeling them out of his skin. His cock is swollen, the veins roped around the shaft popping angrily, hard as it sprung up, slamming against his stomach. The sight already enough for you to gush your arousal on his lap.
you wrap your hands around his base, feeling his cock twitch upon the feel of your skin. Keigo tenses with the touch, exhaling audible breaths. His hands reach your shoulders, dropping the strap of the thin tank top.
He could see your tits slightly jiggle from the movements and his mouth wanted nothing more than to wrap itself around your pert buds.
You move your hands in rhythm – twisting and squeezing your hand in a way that he absolutely loves. A move that always gets him off. Your hands reaches the top of his shaft, his tip is angled beautifully, pre-cum falling of the slit endlessly. You run your thumb against the skin, pressing into the little slit.
Keigo hisses again, his hands reflexively grabs your hair and tugs it.
“F-fuck, don’t…”
you smirk at his reaction, smearing the pre-cum around the cockhead, reaching down the frenulum. while your hands work its wonders, his deft ones tugs your tank top down, releasing your tits from the confines. He kneads the soft mounds…pinching and rolling the nipples with his thick fingers.
The whole scene is lewd and pornographic – both of your hands working against each other to pleasure. Yours on his cock, stroking up and down in a steady rythm, occasionally squeezing the tip while his finds your tits to massage and jiggle it under his palm. Straight out of a sex tape.
You fondle his balls. It feels hot and heavy on your hands while you massage them. his muscle tenses, fighting every nerve to not spill his release yet. Stretching the seconds to imprint the feel of your hands. He reaches your shorts, his hands glides under them and reaching your cunt.
“You’re so wet, baby. Seeing me like this gets you off?” he uses two of his fingers to separate the lips, his middle finger stroking the slit of your pussy all the way to the bundled nerve. he flicks it with one hand, earning a whimper from you. Keigo might get tamed under you momentarily but he still has the power to keep you on your toes as well.
His hands on you feels like heaven but you had a mission to accomplish. You get off his lap, kneeling right in front of him. Resting your hands on his thighs, you sink your mouth in his cock — sending keigo on the brink of orgasm right then and there.
“Oh shit…baby wait…” you move your mouth, your tongue kitten licks the head and moves down. His hands rest on the sides of your head while you bob un and down on his cock.
“You’re so beautiful, baby. Look at your feathers all ruffled and disheveled. So so pretty.”
Keigo could feel his heart hammering at your words. He always thought his love for you had reached the threshold way above the earth but you just had to prove it wrong. Looking at you gazing him with the doe eyes, your hands working deft magic to play with him on the edge of release, you were indeed the one with wings. Wings from the above. A descendent of heaven tailored specifically for him.
“What a perfect little baby I got” he muses. You lay your tongue flat against his shaft, engulfing the whole length in your mouth, the ends of it reaching your throat. Your nose tickling with the untrimmed golden pubic hair decorating his pelvis. You tilt your mouth sideways, sucking more of him while your hands under plays with his balls. They twitch under your hands, begging for the release. You remove your mouth after licking the entirety of his length, his pre-cum smeared sheen on your lips. His wings flap and wraps around you. The sharp ends of the feather trailing the naked body of yours.
You smirk devilishly before grabbing a handful of his feathers, tugging it from the ends, sending a trail of shock right to his spine which gushed down between his legs.
Keigo watches you wink at him before licking your bottom lips to get a taste of his pre-cum. The sight breaking the straw that was holding him. With a final twitch, keigo cums. Strings of white rope decorates your palm while you work him through the release, occasionally licking his heavy cum from his opening.
Keigo feels lightheaded. His body still tingling from the sensation of your hands and mouth. He looks at you giggling, your eyes crinkled with amusement and satisfaction while you lick a handful of his cum off your hand. Fucking hell.
“do you feel better, babe?” you massage his thighs in hopes of taking care of him. He pulls you back into the bed. A quick kiss pressed against your lips — “well you did take a great care of me, I can’t deny. Certainly the best part about my day” his nose brushed against your cheek and you felt like your heart bloomed a batch of roses, specifically for him.
“Im glad I could be of help, darling” your hand rakes his hair and you kiss his cheek. You feel his hands wrap around your waist, gilding down to the dips of your hips.
“thank you so much baby. but…” Keigo turns you around in a split second, grabbing your hips to arch your back. Your ass hiked up in the air for him. His quick fingers tug the elastic of your shorts, peeling it off your skin, displaying your ass in full glory.
He grabs a handful in his hands, spreading them apart to peek at your pussy lips, slick with your arousal, the gaping hole contracting. waiting for its turn to fucking bust.
“wouldn’t it be a shame if I didn’t return the favour to you?” Keigo drags his length over the stripe of your pussy. pushing the tip inside slightly, drawing a moan from you.
It’s gonna be a long, fucking night.

moss’ notes; are you kidding estella? step-cest is the best dead dove do not eat content ever !!! this got more of a 'love-making' thing rather than 'fucking' :/ love you too gf, hope you enjoy 💗😳
“in a minute!” you answered after a few knocks disturbed the silence in your room. can’t a girl take underwear pictures for her girlfriend in peace? you had no privacy in this house, everyone always wanted you to do something and that was fine, until like seven pm, after that you wanted to have the same respected free time as everyone else.
you threw your pajama back on, tossed your phone on the bed, and hurried to the tall white door of your room. it was a mess on your floor after you flipped the whole place up on its head, trying to find the lingerie set that you bought for just the moment like this, to send your girlfriend.
“samira?” she stood at your door, anger and sadness riddling her face. “what happened, are you okay?” despite hating your stepmother you loved her daughter, your step-sister, samira. she was caring, she got you to stuff you only dreamed of getting because of how strict your father was. she took you out to eat whatever you wanted, drove you to school without having to ask, and always left some extra cash in your pocket if you wanted to buy something nice for yourself. samira wasn’t like all those step-sisters in the movies, she wasn’t mean or a bully, she cared for you deeply, and she wanted to keep you safe no matter if it got her in trouble.
“why did you replace me, like all the others? you don’t love me anymore, y/n?”
samira had her fair share of rejections and broken relationships even with how big her heart really was. you sat next to her as she talked about how bad it was, letting her hold you after spilling her guts out, letting her kiss your cheek because you just felt sorry for your older sister- the one that had so much love to give, so much love she gives to you. but when that happens other things happen too… you always convinced yourself it was alright for that to happen, it only happened a couple of times that she pulled you onto her lap, and kissed you sweetly on the lips before pushing you on your back and kissing you some more.
“sami- what are you, don’t…” you gasp, eyes still open in surprise at the sudden feeling of your step-sister’s lips against yours and she feels the way your fingers stiffen in her oversized shirt, unmoving while she kisses you, moving her mouth against yours all while you gawk and freeze in front of her.
but she’s heartbroken, right? she was rejected yet again and her step-sister wouldn’t hurt her feelings too, would you? so you let her even if there is a feeling in your stomach that’s telling you this is wrong, that you have a girlfriend and you are cheating her on, with your step-sister! but samira was always so sweet to you and you don’t want to upset her by being like all the rest.
“aren’t you gonna kiss me back, you love me, don’cha?” samira asks in earnest when she pulls away to frown at you, her voice slurred a bit as her hand grabs at the hem of your shirt, pulling on it like a needy child. “i d-do, i do…” you find the strength to respond, and it truly warms you from the inside out when she smiles at you softly and gives you another peck on the lips before taking your hand, dragging you towards the bed while kicking your door shut with her leg.
samira sat down on the bed, her hands now resting on your waist, staring up at you before they slip under the shirt to caress your stomach and hips. her fingers play with the cloth before pushing it slightly upwards, revealing the underside of your lacy bra. her fingers ball into a fist, creasing your shirt with it before both of her hands caught your pajama top and pulled it off of you, exposing the rest of your lewd underwear.
“you are wearing this for her, don’t you? were you lying to me when you said you love me?“ her anger takes the better of her, forcefully grabbing you by your bra straps and pulling you onto her lap. your knees rest on either side of her thighs, hands holding you up by her shoulder as you shake your head. “i do love you, sammy, i-i promise- it’s for you…”
“i’m sorry for hurting you,” she says, her eyes fixed on your chest before her lips connect with the reddened skin, moving the strap aside to give her better access, sliding it down your arm and her hand reaching behind your back to undo the clasp of your bra.
“we should stop... sammy, i have a g-girlfriend.” your voice is small and you feel just as small. how can you say that to her? you wanna please her because there is no way you want to hurt her feelings when she’s already so fragile.
“but i love you and you love me… this is what you do when you love someone, y/n.” she grunts, chest heaving against yours as she breathes heavily against your skin and it’s almost too quick the way you’re replying, feeling as your bra loosens around your chest and then samira helps you out of it, hastily tossing it to the side.
“yeah, you are right, i-i’m sorry sammy…” samira sighs as she watches your breasts hang free on your body. she wants to take them into her mouth, lick your nipples until they perk up, tug on them so they become nice and puffy, pinch them to hear you say her name so prettily.
taking shaky breaths as she tries to pull herself together. something dangerous turns inside of her when she looks up at your teary eyes and nods softly, biting nervously at the inside of your cheek. “it’s okay, i would never be angry at you, baby.” she slurs, stroking the top of your head, pushing the scattered strands of hair out of your face with an eager smile on her face. she leans in, slurring some kind of praise before kissing you again, prying your lips open with her own as she licks eagerly into your mouth, drinking up your moans while your fingers twist and pull in her hair, her clothed thigh rubbing against your panties.
“it’s alright, sammy’s gonna make ya feel good, princess. so just… listen to your big sister, hm?” she asks, voice whispering directly into your ear causing a shiver to run down your spine. it was less of a question and more of a command, one you melted into, nodding briefly as you bit your lip, too nervous to talk. your reaction amused samira and she smiled sweetly as she pressed a kiss against your collarbone eliciting a pleased exhale from you.
“does it feel good, hm?” samira had thought about this before, thought about her lips against your skin, marking you as hers, hearing you say how much you liked it. she wanted to hear you say that you liked her delicate fingers running over your skin, the way you make yourself wet as she touches you. “y-yes!”
“does it feel better than her, your girlfriend, right? she knows nothing about how to touch you, i do… your big sister sammy does.” she says as she rubs gentle circles into the plush of your thigh, slightly pinching it whenever inchings closer to your aching core. your mind is almost too foggy with lust to respond, all you can think about is her, feeling more, more of her. “she k-knows nothing… you do s-sammy.” you choke on your words, head falling on her shoulder when her fingers touch your clothed entrance, poking the delicate fabric of your panties, toying with it for a second before pushing it aside.
samira grins at your answer, her chest blooming with pride, her fingers slowly pushing inside of you and she chuckles when you let a strained moan out. poor you must have been waiting for this for a while, you wouldn’t touch yourself in the dead of night, right? your parents always bother you so late and you can never satisfy yourself, that’s why you tried to find a girlfriend because you were too scared to ask for sammy’s help. “you feel amazing sissy, nice and warm… squishy.”
“s’good sammy… feels s’good.” you moan mindlessly as she starts to pump her fingers inside. you can hear the faintest slick from your soaked cunt and you almost want to hide it, burying your face deeper into the crook of her neck. her two slim fingers slide smoothly in and out of you, your soft moans buzzing on her skin as she starts picking her pace up.
her eyes roll back as she feels something tickling the thin skin of her collarbones, your saliva trickling down until it hides in her shirt. she curls her finger up and your hips lift to meet the feeling, drive it deeper, pleasure flourishing through your body in waves. her other hand comes up to palm one of your breasts, squeezing them until the fat oozes out between her fingers, moving to flick your nipple with her thumb when you bite into her skin.
“yeah? you wanna cum on my fingers pretty?” samira asks as she presses hot kisses against your cool, sweat-slicked neck.
you nod dumbly, words falling out of your mouth incoherently as you near your high. the heel of her palm presses against your clit, shooting electricity through your nerves, curling your toes, forcing your hips to roll faster, and all you can really focus on is how good it feels when she kisses your neck, leaving the lingering feeling of her lips behind. before you know it you are coming undone, cunt squeezing down on her fingers as you cream on them. you reach for the arm that is inside your panties, nails digging into her flesh as you ride out your high.
“sissy, what do we say when somebody makes us cum?” she hummed while pulling out of you, kindly petting your entrance with her soaked fingers. you take a few short breaths, each of them cutting off as you begin to sob, your arms sliding around samira’s shoulder to pull her closer, digging into her muscles as the last of your orgasm twitches through your body.
“tha-thank you… thank you sammy.” you bawl as you try to pull her body closer to yours, trying to claim the warmth that she is emitting. it was so cold in the room now, without her fingers warming your insides… samira really did know best.

Aftershocks Part 13
Hello again!!
We're back to very cute mushy feelings <3 And some aftercare!
Thinking one more part/epilogue to round this out (which I'm working on now) and that'll be the end of this fic but I have so many more ideas for these two and I'm actually enjoying writing again so there will likely be more content soon!
Samijey Post-Summerslam
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8
Part 9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12

Sami ducks around the corner into the bathroom, on a mission to return with a warm wet towel to clean Jey and himself off.
With this moment to himself, even after living everything thats transpired over the last few hours, he still has a hard time believing that all of this was real and not some liquor fueled fantasy he’d dreamed up for himself on a lonely night.
His dating history is shorter than most, what with living most of his life on the road, dedicating his life to his very first love of wrestling. The few times he’d dated women the relationships fizzled out pretty quickly, and the one man he’s been with?
Well he hadn’t lied to Jey earlier, at no point during the arranging of his travel did he expect to have one bed for Kevin and himself, and while he certainly loved his tag partner, it was truly the bond of brothers.
But all those years ago, when Sami had been questioning his sexuality, Kev had been an understanding ear and willing to help him out while he experimented.
It certainly hadn’t been good sex, and all of the sex he’s had in general has been firmly in the “vanilla” category.
Where had all of that come from?
The pet names, the spanking, calling the other man pretty? He knows those are things that probably should be discussed prior to being done in the moment, but it all felt so right and natural. Not to mention hot as hell.
Sami had felt so at home in his role in the bloodline, with his knack for taking care of others and his eagerness to please. It felt like an extension of that, caring for this man that he loves in a whole new way.
And Jey needed someone to take care of him, more than deserved it for the hell he’s gone through.
The thought brings him back to the moment, warm water cascading over the towel in his hand. He wrings it out, making sure its not going to drip everywhere, and heads back to the mini fridge to get a cold bottle of water before returning to bed.
Jey’s still in the same spot on the bed, cozy in the pillows and legs splayed, a pout on his face.
“Bout time,” He gripes.
Sami laughs in spite of himself, even when Jey’s irritated he’s so damn cute.
“Sorry, got distracted.” He kisses the wrinkle in Jey’s forehead as he puts the water on the side table.
He takes his time, slowly running the warm towel through the mess on Jey’s chest and abdomen, loving on his skin in a whole new way. Somehow its even more intimate, going back between Jey’s thighs and cleaning up the mess he left behind.
In hindsight, it probably would have been better to have used a condom. Sure he knows they’re both clean, they both get tested for anything and everything all the time, but it shows a level of commitment that’s showing his hand a little bit more than he intended.
After all things escalated pretty quickly tonight, and he’s in this for the long haul but he doesn’t want to scare Jey off.
He tosses the towel over to the corner of the room and gets back in on his side of the bed.
He spares a glance at the clock and its late. More morning now than night. And he’s tired for sure, body nice and relaxed from the orgasm if nothing else, but sleep is still far from his mind.
Sami settles on his back for a second, staring at the popcorn ceiling, silence stretching between them again.
Jey coughs and Sami looks over at him, and he smiles at the sight of another pout, with the addition of that beautiful flush dusting his cheeks.
“You jus’ done wit me now?”
He can only guess that this was meant as a joke, but there’s a bite of insecurity to the question that hurts Sami’s heart to hear.
He rolls over and takes Jey’s face in his hand. “Of course not,” He kisses Jey’s nose, so softly that its barely a brush of his lips. “You’re not getting rid of me now.”
Jey grins, responding “Good,” before kissing him on the lips. It’s just as sweet as the first time.
They exchange a few lazy kisses like this, unhurried and slow, their legs intertwined on the bed. It’s bliss, an earned reward for the literal trials and tribulations it took to arrive here together.
Sami pulls back a bit, licking his lips to savor the taste of Jey on his tongue. “We probably should uh, talk about what this means at some point.” Jey’s beautiful eyes bore into his, and its hard not to get lost in them. “I meant what I said, you’re stuck with me now.”
Jey nods, and takes one of Sami’s hands in his own. “Tomorrow, ‘kay? N’ uh, go easy on me. M’not so good at talkin’ ‘bout feelings.” He brings Sami’s hand to his lips, kisses each knuckle, gently. “S’important though. You’re important, Uce.”
It warms Sami’s heart but he can’t help but mirror the cringe that befalls Jey’s face when he realizes what he said.
“Shit, no more Uce for you, huh? S’gonna be a hard habit to break.” Jey’s fingers reach up to run through Sami’s hair absentmindedly, tucking a stray lock behind his ears. “Maybe somethin’ else, yeah? Pele? Manamea maybe?”
Sami’s grasp of the Samoan language isn’t the best, but Jey’s tone is unmistakable and the look in his eyes reassures him that they truly are on the same page here.
He kisses Jey again, for no other reason than that he wants to and can. It’s a treat to be able to do so, a gift that he’s never going to take for granted.
----
God I just love them so much 🥰

Here is the first part of the story! Hope you like it! It was kind of rushed thought, sorry about that!
It is called..
King Leonardo and the Fallen Kingdom
This is about the leader of the TMNT, Leonardo. This is just what happens before, like flashbacks or things he writes down, I won’t say much yet! Hope you enjoy it!
Long ago, Two Brothers united into the Hamato Kingdom, The King of the land none other than Hamato Yuuta.
You see, Oroku Saki was found
In the aftermath of the war, Being adopted by the king wasn't easy, Especially when Oroku Saki was the prince of the Foot Clan Kingdom. Yuuta had to keep it secret from him, if he didn't, who knows what could happen. So throughout the years, King Yuuta has kept the big news a secret, afraid it will Only lead Oroku Saki down a path of evil, you see, this was no ordinary kingdom This was a kingdom at magic. And in Oroku Saki’s heart, all there was, was dark and evil magic from the Foot kingdom. (I know, weird name, but wort with me here) Enough about Oroku Saki! Let’s talk about Hamato Yoshi!
Hamato Yoshi was born in the Hamate Kingdom and was given the power of patience and strong Will - power. Now, you might be wondering, “How is that a super power?” Well, patience might not seem like much, but will power allows him to block attacks using his magic and the power of patience ables him to learn healing magic, any if he wanted too if he tried, making him the higher and more powerful kid, making him next in line.
When Oroku Sami found out, he despised Yoshi because of anger and betrayal, thinking he should have become the next in line. Making the two now rivals.
Yuuta was someone who believed that if needed to fight, you must, so, he did what any kung-fu king would do, teach his sons Kung-fu, but what Yuuta didn’t know is that after all of the training, the two used it to fight each other. Yoshi was someone who never wanted to fight if he ever wanted to..but when Saki forced him to fight, he couldn’t just leave, Saki wouldn’t let him, so, he fought back. After the years of fighting, they never agreed on anything, so they fought and fought, until one day the two were exploring and fighting of course.
"Saki, we can work together," Yoshi pleaded during the heated sparring session.
"Work together? Why should I, when you’re always favored?" Saki retorted, his eyes burning with anger.
Yoshi was slammed against a broken wall (some ancient ruins or something), Before a helmet would fall out of a glass casing, the two stopped fighting, looking at it in confusion, Saki picked it up, it had many ancient writings on the inside, so they went home to tell their father.
When Yuuta saw the helmet, he went ballistic, yelling at the two, mostly Saki, because they found something so dangerous, Sali had enough of the yelling, the annoying behavior of his father…so that night, he left the kingdom for good.
In those years, Saki found his origins on where he came from…he was pissed to say the least..all of this power, all of this greatness…yet he hid it for ‘protection’…After years alone, he finally made something that revolutionizes his new army, a ooze that can turn humans into hideous monsters/mutants…so…he did what he did best…conquering places by his wrath..Gaining more power than ever..So..to get revenge..he would use it on his Brother.

Synopsis: Friends with benefits. Or, in their case, a way to release pent up frustration. They made a pact, a solemn vow that it wouldn't lead to anything serious. Little did they know their tryst was about to be short-lived.
Warning: NSFW for mature content. Do not read if you're under 18.
There were rules and regulations that needed to be adhered to. On this particular night, however, there were exceptions. It had been months since their last encounter, so the sexual tension was at an all time high. Typically, they opted on skipping foreplay, but tonight was different. It felt more...intimate than usual. Something Sami noticed right away, as he proceeded to kiss his partner. They only kissed a handful of times, but this kiss seemed softer and more passionate. The instant their lips connected it was as if Kevin was breathing life back into him. For the first time in years he felt truly at peace. His woes a distant memory and Kevin's lips were the cure.
The kiss was a mistake, but it was too late to turn back now. Kevin's stomach sank when he felt the not so subtle spark between them. They always shared a connection, but this was deeper. A part of him wondered if Sami felt it too, but he pushed that thought to the back of his mind and carried out the task at hand. With their lips still attached, he slips under Sami's shirt, running his hands over his broad chest. His actions were halted, however, when Sami clasped his hands over his own. He meets his gaze and immediately regrets it.
They stare at each other, eyes permanently locked. Sami's chest brushing against Kevin's, as he attempts to steady his breathing. An uncomfortable silence fills the room, the only sound that could be heard was the gentle thumping of their hearts, beating in unison. Stricken with emotion, Sami turns his face away. "I'm sorry, I can't do this." His voice wavering audibly, as he makes a beeline for the door.
Once the initial shock wore off, Kevin sprung into action, pursuing his best friend turned lover. "Sami!" He called after him, reaching the door in the nick of time. Kevin might've been big, but he was fast, as he barricaded himself in front of the door. "Sami, what's wrong?" He already knew the answer, but figured he would try to pry it out of him.
Tears pricked Sami's eyes, as he forced himself to look anywhere but at Kevin. He couldn't bear to meet his gaze for fear of breaking down. His heart pounding so hard he could hear it beating in his ears. "That kiss was...we never should've agreed to this!" He choked out a reply.
If Kevin's heart wasn't beating fast before, it certainly was now. He felt it too. For a moment he forgot how to breathe. "Sami, I-"
"We made a promise that we wouldn't get attached, that we wouldn't let our feelings get in the way..." Sami interjected, as he rambled on.
"Sami," still rambling. "Sami," rambling continues. "Sami!" Kevin exclaims, cupping Sami's face in his hands to capture his attention. "It's okay." He coaxes, his voice taking a more softer tone as he reaches for Sami's hand, gently placing it over his heart. "I feel it too."
Sami's face softened, but fear remained in his eyes. He didn't want these newfound feelings to ruin what they've built for over a decade.
As if reading his mind, Kevin leans forward, pressing his forehead tenderly against Sami's. A gesture they often used as a sign of intimacy. "This doesn't change anything between us."
Sami wanted to believe him. He wanted to believe nothing would change. That they would still remain friends. But there was a nagging doubt in the back of his mind that he couldn't seem to shake.

What would your ideal design for Samus be like? Seeing as it's pretty much always been a topic of contention within the fandom, wether she should be slightly buf or REALLY buff, anime styled or realistic, heels or no heels etc
These are peak Samus in my opinion
I like me a buff Samus - not to the point of looking like a bodybuilder :P but to the point that one glance at her tells you "she's strong enough to do backflips in a suit that must weigh her bodyweight"
For the same reason, I'm not a fan of weels or wedges, which is literally the only problem I have with SR and MD's designs. The artists of ZM got it right:
Maybe make her as tall as she deserves to be, instead of giving her unpractical footwear :V
I think the balance between realistic and anime of Prime 3 and SR is the best look. Fusion and ZM tend too much on the anime waifu side, and P1's Samys will always look like she crawled out of the Uncanny Valley for me :P OM is on thin ice, there is nothing wrong with the model's face but she still looks... off.
Also, strictly my opinion, but I'd like to see something other than the ponytail + Zero Suit combo sometime. I really like this unlockable image in ZM for example, with Samus tying her hair like that:
And also, as sorry as I am for praising OM :P Samus looks cute in her green coat and I'd like to see it again
(that side ponytail is also cute)

Random bits of the roommate AU Ive been talking too @ambroseasylum and @shanie-the-toyaddict about [and anyone else who wants to know, cuz its living rent free in my head]
Sami has a spare room and doesnt like living alone because it makes them sad.
He’s 19
Maddie is going up to Montreal for college/Med school cuz im indecidive.
he/they Sami my beloved
Sami posts an ad for a roomate online and Maddie finds it and they arrange stuff and things.
Randy is not looking forward to his baby sister leaving home and gets kinda angry when she states that she had already found a place to live because he doesnt get why she applied to go into Montreal, even thought the college she got was her last choice.
Randy drives her up despite the arguments and is just listing things that Maddie could have left behind but she hasn’t.
Sami forgets the day shes appearing and forgets to clean.
When she appears, hes trying to hide dirty clothes in the kitchen counter.
Sami works part time in a pet-store when hes not wrestling.
Maddie uses she/her pronouns but doesnt care how shes referred too.
She doesnt present very feminine at all, she doesnt get gender roles or norms like at all.
It is gonna be implied that Sami has undiagnosed ADHD because how the hell do I write neurotypicals?
There is a scene where Sami gets injured and tries to sew himself up.
Madelyn is deaf and Sami doesn’t know sign and so carries a whiteboard around when she doesn’t have her hearing aids is so they can still communicate together.
Trans!Kevin owens. If I get hate for this I am simply going to ignore you and hope that your shower/bath is never at the temperature you like.
Madelyn and Kevin bond over being “different”
Sami tries [and fails] to teach Madelyn french and she tries and momentarily wins at teaching them ASL.
Maddie is in med school and works part time in the Museam gift store.
Sami sometimes forgets that Maddie doesnt speak french or urdu and will randomly ask her things in those languages and than just smiles when she stares blankly.
Sami zayn is just a little shit and we love him for it.
Maddie randomly appears to look after the other wrestlers when theyre hurt mostly because she is in the right place at the right time.
Neither one of them can handle the cold very well, so they both have a mass of blankets on their beds.
The originally sleep in different rooms, their doors facing and Sami normally has his room pitch dark and whenever the lights are on Maddie knows something is going on.
Maddie doesn’t like the summer and her favourite season is spring.
Sami’s full name is Samuel. Maddie finds it kinda funny and uses it to playfully tease him.
Kevin just appears randomly and its always at the worse times for the two of them.
Sami likes to sing but gets anxious and so only sings when he is alone/ Maddie has her hearing aids off or out.
Sami becomes a house husband when he starts pining.
Maddie does the cleaning because he hates it.
That is it, I love this AU more than I love myself atm
I am sorry this isnt Dara content

A Fine Line
I've really enjoyed Sami Zayn's paranoid, obsessive belief that there is some sort of WWE conspiracy against him. I'm also kind of persuaded that the company has exhibited a prejudice against him for no reason. So that's where this story comes from.
Pairing: Sami Zayn x OFC
Word count: 2,972
Content advisory: smut and a major dereliction of duty by a professional in a position of power
You’ve come to dread visiting this place. It’s not that the neighborhood is so bad, although you always make sure to park your car in the monitored lot rather than on the street, even though it means you have to walk a couple of blocks. You’ve been in worse places.
But it’s started getting to you, these regular appointments that seem to be getting more and more alarming. He’s not well. It’s not your fault and it’s not really your business. You’re just the Health and Safety officer who’s been assigned to meet with him while he’s experiencing what the company calls a “stressful episode”. You’re just there to determine if he’s healthy enough, mentally and physically, to fight every week and to recommend a medical course of action if you think he’s slipping. Lately, though, you get the feeling that everything that you report is getting distilled down to one word: yes. Yes, he’s fit to work, because he understands who he is, what the job entails, and how to do all the moves he needs to so that no one gets hurt. The fact that for the last three weeks you’ve been saying that he needs a break to stave off any problems in the future seems not to have registered with anyone. So every time you come back here and talk about his health, you feel like you’re failing him. Worse, it feels like you’re being dishonest with him.
You step onto the landing at the back of the house where he rents his tiny apartment. He could afford better but, as he’s told you, he likes it here. He needs his money for other things. What things? He doesn’t like to specify. But he’s certain that there’s a time coming when he won’t be earning what he is now, when he doesn’t think he’ll be able to do this kind of work anywhere.
As usual, you knock twice in quick succession and then twice slowly. Yes, you have a secret knock to gain admittance to the home of the man who is officially fine to risk his life and the lives of others in a wrestling ring.
“Come in,” comes the answer from inside.
You squint as you enter the darkened apartment. All the blinds are pulled down and he’s even pushed towels along the window sills so that no light leaks through the bottom. You can make out his figure sitting cross-legged on the floor but that’s about it.
“Lock it behind you, please,” he says, his tone as polite as ever but firm.
You do as he wishes, engaging both locks before turning back to look at him. He reaches over and turns on a lamp that’s sitting near him. It’s not a lot of light but it allows you to see that he looks more or less the same, no visible signs of self-harm or weight loss. His eyes shift rapidly over you, around the room, towards the door, all over the place. They’re feverishly bright, which is never a good sign. Despite his yoga-like pose, he shows little signs of agitation: his fingers tap ceaselessly on his knee, he chews a little on his lip, and he blinks a lot.
There’s a thick, musky aroma to the place, not exactly unpleasant but animalistic, not something that belongs in an urban apartment.
“Hi Sami,” you say, sitting down on the small, uncomfortable sofa in front of him. You place your handbag on the floor and keep your hands flat on your knees where he can see them. You’re not hiding anything.
“Hello.”
“How are you feeling today?”
“I feel wonderful.”
“That’s good.”
He nods vigorously. “I feel like I’m finally putting everything together.”
“How do you mean?” You hate it when he’s like this. On a selfish level, it means that he’s probably going to talk at you for three hours about the conspiracies against him and the enemies he’s made, and you’ll end up stuck in your office until eight or later parsing through your notes, trying to figure out what’s germane to an evaluation of his health.
“Did you see my match?”
“I saw some of it,” you answer guiltily. Wrestling is not your thing and you shouldn’t need to watch the product, which is fictional, in order to understand the very real health of your clients. But with Sami, it’s different. The divide between real and imaginary is fuzzy in his head and that makes it as real as the furniture in this room as far as his mental health is concerned.
“It looked really good.” You try to sound enthusiastic.
“I lost,” he grumbles.
“I know. Has that been hard on you?”
“It’s what I expected. That’s what the people want.”
“What people?”
“The people! The fans. The ‘WWE Universe.’” He waves his hands and smirks as he says those last two words and you do have to admit that it sounds pretty dumb. He sees your lips twitch in amusement and smiles. “All those weird little faces on screens.”
“They weren’t faces on screens last week, though.”
“No, they were real. Or what passes for real.”
“You don’t think those were real people watching you?”
“They were the chosen ones. The ones that the people in charge wanted to be there. It’s not like it used to be. It’s all controlled. Only people they’re certain about get to see what’s going on. You see what they want you to see.”
He’s getting irritable, you can tell, something which always makes you nervous. He’s never gotten violent or threatening with you, not even close. He’s raised his voice and paced around and that’s been stressful enough. He’s not huge like some of the guys he works with but he’s strong and when he gets upset you can see the muscles beneath his skin. If he turned on you, you wouldn’t be able to defend yourself.
What’s truly horrible is that whenever he does start to get riled up, there’s a part of you that feels a little excited by it. It’s the worst thing that you could be thinking about a client, the most hideous betrayal of your ethics. But there’s something about him, all that energy and intelligence, misdirected though it may be.
“That’s what entertainment is, though,” you counter. “The people producing it always control what the audience sees.”
“Entertainment,” he hisses.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that in an insulting way. I know you’re an athlete.”
“No, I am an entertainer. I’m both. But when they say it they mean I’m there for their entertainment. They mean that I’m to do what they tell me. I did this for years and I could come up with my own stories and use my own ideas. I can’t do that anymore. They won’t let me. They’re scared of what I’d do.”
“Has anyone said that to you?”
He laughs mirthlessly. “No one says that to you. No one says anything real, ever. It’s all ‘we think you should do it this way’ or ‘we think this is a good plan for you’. No one tells you what they’re actually thinking. You have to dig it out, you have to look for it behind what they say and then you discover what it is they’re really up to.”
“And what is it that they’re up to as far as you’re concerned?”
He glares at you and leans back a little.
“Why don’t you tell me? You’re the one they’re paying to interrogate me every week.”
“You think this is an interrogation?”
“Isn’t it?”
It’s obvious that this is devolving into childishness. Every time you’re here, it happens at least once but it usually takes you longer to trip up and give him a reason to shut you out.
“I’m sorry, Sami. I didn’t mean to make you feel like I was… I want you to be able to trust me, to feel like you can talk to me. Yes, I work for the company but my job, what I trained to do, is keeping people healthy. That’s all I ever wanted to do. Do you believe me?”
“It’s a nice thought. You seem nice.”
You smile, projecting all the warmth and kindness you can muster.
His expression grows suspicious again. “But it’s still them sending you here. Maybe they don’t tell you what to say or what information you’re supposed to be getting from me. Maybe they just figure that they can send this sexy woman over to act like my friend and I’ll forget about everything they’re trying to do to me.”
“I’m not here to be your friend, Sami. I’m here to see if I can help you, professionally. I don’t want you to feel like I’m pretending to be something I’m not.” After a moment’s reflection, you add, “Thank you for the compliment, though.”
He chuckles a little. “Are you allowed to think that?”
“You mean, am I allowed to be complimented that I like hearing you say I’m sexy? I don’t know. But you know I’m flattered by it.”
He can’t deny that. He knows full well that you’ve developed a crush on him. He can see it in the way that you blush when he says nice things about you, and how happy you look when he opens up to you a little. It’s uncomfortable that he knows the power he has over you but it’s also helpful because he talks to you more easily than he would to others. He likes knowing that you’re a bit soft on him.
He leans back, propping himself on his elbows so that his shirt falls away from his chest. You’re used to him appearing with his shirt undone so that you can see a bit of his torso, but this is more of a display than you’re used to. You demurely cross your legs at the ankles and focus on meeting his restless eyes.
“What do they tell you to get from me when you come here?”
“They don’t tell me anything,” you insist. “I’m supposed to come here and determine if you’re able to fight or if you need to have some sort of therapy.”
“You mean like electroshock therapy,” he grunts.
“No, there are lots of different things I’d recommend before that. For instance, like I keep telling you, I wish you’d consider medication to help cope with this paranoia you feel about the company and what they have in mind for you.”
“Paranoia?” he snorts. “What does that mean again?”
“It means you have an unreasonable fear or anxiety regarding something.”
“So what’s the opposite of paranoia?”
“I don’t really know what you’re asking,” you stammer. “I guess it would be not living in fear. Or recognizing a real threat and reacting to it appropriately.”
“But there isn’t a word for that, is there?” he sighs. “Paranoia is an unreasonable fear. But there isn’t a nice, concise word for a reasonable fear.”
“No,” you concede, “I suppose there isn’t.”
“So if I feel like I’m being victimized by WWE, if I feel like they’ve prevented me from rising to the top of the company, you tell me that I’m being paranoid. But there’s no word for what I think if I’m right.”
It gets to you that he’s right. Everything that you’re supposed to be talking to him about is predicated on the idea that he’s imagining things, that he’s wrong about how the company has been treating him.
“I want to help you, Sami. That’s all I want, I swear. That’s what I’m trained for.”
“You’re a very nice person,” he says with an ironic grin. “I mean, you’re the sort of person they don’t give a lot of information to.”
You want to feel insulted by that but it’s also true: you know that your bosses tell you the least they can before they send you out to meet with talent. The real decisions are made well away from you. Making him believe that you can accomplish something for him involves having to convince him that you have some power, but you’re not sure you’re in any position to do that.
Sami leans forward, amber eyes fixed on yours, and places his hands on your knees.
“What do they tell you to do with me?”
“They don’t tell me anything. They just tell me to talk to you. And you shouldn’t be doing that.”
As you’ve spoken, Sami has pushed your legs apart and has started planting kisses along your thighs. He looks up at you with a petulant expression before pushing his face deeper, breathing hot and quick against your panties, licking at them until they’re as wet on the outside as they are on the inside.
Sami, we can’t be doing this,” you pant, crying out as he sucks against the fabric hard, making your clit quiver.
“Why not?” he hums. “You want it. I want it.”
He presses two fingers roughly inside you, stroking that spot inside you that makes you scream and thrash against him, seeking release. Even with your panties still on, just feeling him lick and suck at you through the cotton barrier, you come with a force you can’t remember experiencing ever. He keeps pumping his fingers in and out of your pussy as you continue to spasm around him, trembling for long minutes until you’re too overwhelmed and have to shove his hand away because you’re so sensitive that any contact hurts.
“Think about it,” he whispers, pulling himself on top of you, “They send you here to look at me and make sure that I’m good enough to fight, to make money for them. They send you in here with the idea in your head that I’m being irrational, that I’m imagining things.”
He grips your face in his hands, staring into your eyes as he pulls your panties away and thrusts his cock into you. It’s true what he says, you think as he starts to move, although all thought is quickly supplanted by pleasure, by the feeling of him stroking at your g-spot and grunting softly as he fucks you. You simply lock eyes with him and let yourself be overwhelmed by their earnestness and honesty. No one at your job as ever looked as convinced of anything as he does staring into you as you both come together, yelping and gasping, then shaking and clinging to each other as you come down from your highs.
“Do they listen to anything you tell them about me?” he murmurs, gathering you close to him and caressing your face.
You tilt your head back, moaning a little and exposing your throat to him, an invitation he accepts, sucking hard at the flesh. It’s true that no one pays attention to what you say, least of all about him. And it’s true that there does seem to be some sort of weird block they have against pushing Sami and some others to the heights they deserve. You aren’t ready to tell him that but the look in his eyes when he meets your gaze tells you that he doesn’t have any doubt what you’re thinking.
“What else do you have on your schedule this afternoon?” he whispers.
“You’re my only plan.”
“So spend some time with me.” He pushes his head against yours, thrusting his tongue into your mouth so quickly it takes you a second to adjust and respond, passionately kissing him back, whimpering and moaning to let him know how much you’re enjoying it.
“I’m really not supposed to do this,” you gasp.
“I know there’s a part of you that believes me,” he pants, letting his detumescent prick slide out of your body. “I can tell you don’t think I’m crazy because I think they’re trying to keep me down. Whatever they sent you here to do, I know that all you want is to end up with what’s right. So I say, this is right. Let’s do what we really want and figure other stuff out later.”
“I don’t know. This is a pretty huge breach of conduct for me. Even if I do think you might be onto something.”
He draws a finger lightly along the edge of your bottom lip.
“If you think I’m onto something, maybe you should stay and figure out if you think I’m worth believing.”
Hours later, you’re in his bed, gripping the sheets with all your might. He’s kneeling, hands dug into your hips so hard that you know there will be bruises before he even lets go. He’s pounding into you with the force of a jackhammer, lifting you so that every movement strokes your g-spot until you convulse around him, screaming his name, your orgasm triggering his own.
You can’t remember how many rounds you’ve had. Your body is like one giant pulsing nerve, quivering uncontrollably as he pulls out of you while pressing his thumb firmly against your clit.
“So do you still think I’m crazy?”
You no longer know what you should think of him. Whatever he’s done, you’ve done far worse. So are you even in a position to judge him? Thinking about what your superiors take from your reports, is there any reason to believe that they have a better grip on the situation than he does?
“I think you’re pretty stressed,” you murmur, pulling him close so that you can nuzzle your face against his. “I think that both of us could do with a break from this company.”
The two of you kiss again, passionately, excitedly, gripping each other as if you were the only stable things in the universe.
Professionally, you’ve done something unforgivable. But perhaps it’s something that will be understandable in the long term. Perhaps you’ve chosen to be on the right side.

In These Arms | Chapter 1: Captain
Artwork by @tinaducain
You dodge a slab of metal sheet coming your way and run before sliding across the floor and pushing yourself up. Bringing up your fist you slam your earth gauntlet on the ground causing a wave of earth to barrel towards Lin. Lin bends up a wall of earth to block, jumps over and sends a punch your way. You lean back to dodge when Lin swings her leg under you knocking you down on your back and you groan out. Lin walks over towards you and straddles you putting your arms above your head as she pins you down. “Yield?” she smirks as she looks down at you as you admire Lin’s body on top. You nod your head after bringing your eyes to meet hers “Yeah, I yield”. Lin blushes as she catches you looking at her body and stands up and smirks then lifts her shirt to wipe some sweat off the inner corner of her eye “What’s the matter, rookie? Can’t keep up?”
As you get up your eyes look down at Lin’s amazing abdomen flexing and glistening in sweat, slightly biting your lip. Lin catches you looking again, and scoffs putting her shirt back down forcing you to focus back on “I’m pretty sure I’m no longer a rookie” you laugh as you unwind your wrappings from your arms.
“Then what are you?” Lin asks, causing you to look at Lin confused “Did you get hit hard back there? I’m a lieutenant”
“Not anymore”
“What?” your eyes widen as you drop your binding wrap on the bench. You try to think of any reason for why you’re no longer in your position. “wait...If this was about that bust on the Agni Kai last week. It’s not my fault Shin blew our cover and made it ten times more work than it needed to be.”
Lin smirks and lets out a laugh as she folds her arms, she loves making you sweat “You’re being moved up to Captain”
“Wait, I’m being… promoted?”
“You passed your civil service promotion to captain exam. Though I didn’t like how you and Mako handled the Varrick case. You chose to listen to your instincts and trust a low ranking officer rather than be blinded by your title and rank. Putting your jobs on the line was reckless, but you chose to keep going anyway. I need more people like that in my team, especially in the higher ranks.”
“Thank you, chief.”
“You deserve it”
“Captain…it is easier to say. It just rolls off the tongue.”
“It sure does”
Your eyebrows perk “Chief?”
“Captain?” you walk towards Lin and both look over at the door to make sure it was closed before putting your hands on her waist and both of you lean in and share a kiss.
“Is this why you wanted a private sparring match with me?” you pulled back a bit and grinned
“I had to knock you down a bit before giving you the news” Lin shrugs as she wraps her arms around your neck and smirks “You can knock me down as much as you want” you whisper brushing your lips against hers as you lift her up and kiss her deeply. Lin softly laughs against your lips and urges you to put her down so you both can freshen up and get back to work.
“Oh, can you get Mako so I can give him the news that he’s being promoted to detective” Lin asks as she walks out towards the door. “Sure, chief” you smile as you pack up your gym bag, and Lin smiles back “Thank you, Captain ”. Your eyebrow raises as you bite back a grin and your cheeks redden. Lin is going to be the death of me .

Walking down the hall after your shower and changing back to your uniform you look for Mako at his desk. “Mako, chief’s looking for you” you give him a stern look as you put your arms behind your back. Mako starts to look nervous as he slowly gets up looking around at the other officers who are snickering. “Did she mention anything” he asks as he walks around the desk and starts walking to Lin’s office. “Nope, but… good luck” you whisper but don’t look at him keeping a straight face. Once you reach the door you open it for him allowing him to step in first before closing the door after you. “Chief, Mako is here for you” you announced as Lin puts her glasses down and leans back in her chair, “Do you want the good or bad news first?” Lin looks at Mako in a cold stern face. Mako shoots you a look and you shrug “I would probably start with the bad news youll end it with a good note”. Mako sweats a bit and nods “Good idea.. uh the bad news chief” Lin groans slightly and leans forward in the desk “Well unfortunately you’ll no longer be needed as an officer.” Mako’s eyes widen as he hears the news “What?!? But I thought…I thought I was doing a good job on the force”. Lin waves a hand and eyes him “Well you thought wrong”. Mako looks down defeated and upset “Oh…thanks for the opportunity, chief” he turns towards the door grabbing the door handle. You turn to him and stop him putting your hand on his shoulder “Don’t you want to hear the good news?”. “No, I’m good. I don’t think anything will be good after losing a job” Mako looks down and you smirk letting a laugh escape your lips “Who said anything about losing a job? You’re not fired” Mako jerks his head over to you confused “What?”. You look over at Lin and give her a look to end the ploy and she groans standing up from her chair “Your paperwork got processed and it’s been finalized. You’re officially a Detective.” Lin gives Mako a gentle smile. Mako lets out a sigh of relief and bows to Lin “Thanks, chief. I won’t let you down”. Lin gives him a wave to dismiss him and he leaves out the office and you close the door after him. “That was good, chief” you look over at her and she gives you a look before smiling a bit “Get back to work”
“Yes, chief” you coo as you give her a salute before walking out the office closing the door after you. You walk over to Mako and give him a smile “Well congratulations are in order here, Detective.” Mako sighs and smiles “You two really had me there. How did you know?”
“Chief told me the news after promoting me to Captain. Consider yourself lucky, she told me after sparring me.”
“Oh…congrats, y/n”
“Thanks, let’s just hope we don’t have to do any more secret sting operations anymore. I would like us to keep our jobs” you give Mako a stern look as you rub the back of your neck.
“Same”
“Alright well I got to head back to work. Keep it up” you dismiss yourself and head back to your office.

After Harmonic Convergence you and Lin made the decision to take the chance and see each other romantically, sort of dating but you both decided to keep it under wraps for now. Your apartment was part of the buildings that got taken over by the spirit vines so you’ve been sort of living with Lin. Tenzin and Asami both offered you a place to stay, you figured with a lot of bodies at the air temple it would be best to stay with Asami plus it would be easier to keep the secret going and get to Lin if you stayed inside the city. After a couple of nights of not showing up to your room at the Sato estate, Asami had growing suspicions of how far the relationship had developed between you and Lin.
After kissing Lin goodnight you decide you should head back to the estate and spend the night there. Stepping into the grounds you sneak inside the mansion and creeped back to your room. A light turns on “You might as well have stayed over at this point” Asami laughs as she folds her arms sitting on a recliner. You looked over at the clock on the wall and saw it was three in the morning, you tried to keep your cool “Oh hey, Sami…I was just getting a glass of water” you stood up and rubbed the back of your neck. “Really? Seems awful like you’re trying to sneak in after spending time with your girlfriend.” She laughed some more and shook her head. “Whaaaa?! Wait…. how’d you know she’s my girlfriend?” you blush then your eyes widen and you try to backtrack “Wai--”. “Aha, I knew it! I didn’t but you just confirmed it” Asami jumped out the chair and pointed at you. “Shit…” you muttered as you hung your head down “Okay, you caught me” you put your hands in the air. “You really weren’t that slick to hide it. You come home late with your clothes all disheveled than when you left even when it looks like you try to smooth it out.” you both exchange a laugh “You happy huh?” Asami quiets down and you smile sliding your hands in your pockets “Yeah, very much so. Haven’t been this content in a while”. “Well nice going, Beifong is a catch.” She smirks. As she folds her arms.
“Asami!” you gape at her and point a finger at her eyeing her
“You can’t tell anyone. we’re keeping it quiet right now - no one can know. Especially not Team Avatar, Korra and Bolin will never shut up about it if they find out.” You groan then smile and let out a laugh.
“Why? it’s a good thing. We’ll all be supportive of it.” Asami walks towards you and puts a hand on her hip.
“It’s new, we want to enjoy it before being put on the press or hearing it from the group.” You shrug and run your hand through your hair before resting it on the back of your neck.
“I understand and respect that, and my lips are shut.” Asami assures you as she puts her hand on your shoulder.
“Thanks, I should head for bed. You should too. No more busting me….” you give Asami a glaring smile then groan rubbing your face “I should let Lin know about this… she’s not going to be happy.”
*
Walking up the steps and taking a deep breath before knocking the door and waiting for an answer. The door opens and Lin looks around “You were supposed to be at the station.” Not waiting for her to greet you when you step inside and close the door after you, “We need to talk”.
Lin folds her arms and looks at you “What’s wrong y/n” she looks at you concerned. You pace around the room a bit before looking up at Lin “I know we agreed to keep our relationship a secret, but—”
“I knew you weren’t okay with it - why didn’t you say something?” Lin snapped as she rubs her eyes. You shake your head and hold her hands into yours “I wanted our affair quiet, but Asami figured it out” you look at Lin sorry for blowing your cover. “how?”
“She caught me… she was waiting in the sitting room to catch me sneaking upstairs. Apparently she’s been keeping tabs on how many times I’ve been coming home late.” You sigh and look at Lin.
“Asami isn’t going to say a word, Lin” you assured her even though you could see in Lin’s face that she was upset and scared of being found out. “We need to talk to her. Make sure she isn’t going to say anything” she looks at you.
••
The past eight days with you have been the most fun Lin’s had in years and the blooming relationship sometimes has her feeling like a teenager. Lin asked you to keep the relationship a secret and you’ve been more than understanding and even agreed to keep it from everyone else for the time being. It surprised Lin at first at how maturely you handled it, your age did come into question as she thought you would want to show off since most young adults like to go out and be seen. She thought you would have to be convinced, but you accepted no questions asked. “Let's just enjoy ourselves first before bringing people into our affairs”. Lin heard you say as you took her hands into yours. Lin blinked surprised at how quick and easy that conversation went.
••
“Sure, I think Asami is still home” Lin grabs your wrist and pulls you out of the house and both of you go to the Sato estate.
Butler opened the door “Madam y/n…Chief Beifong” he addressed the both of you “Did you forget something madam?”you greet him as you and Lin step inside to let the door close “No, Butler we’re actually here to talk to Asami before work. Is she still here?”
“Yes, Miss Sato is in her study. If you can follow me” he starts to walk the both of you before you stop him “It’s okay Butler. I know the way to the study” you bring your arm out and guide Lin to the study up the stairs. “Before we go in there. Please tell me you’re not going to go fists in the air” you whisper as you grab the door handle looking at Lin. Lin rolls her eyes and gives you a huff before you sigh and open the door with a smile “Sami, hey, how are you doing” you force a smile as you look at Asami then look at Lin.
“Hey y/n, um Chief Beifong. Nice to see you too” she greets the both of you. “Let’s cut to the chase,” Lin butts in and your smile drops as you groan, putting your face down. “Cut to what chase?” Asami looks from Lin to you as you bring your face up and look at Asami, “We’re here—mostly Lin—to talk about the new development you’ve learned about the two of us” you motion between Lin and yourself. “Oh…” Asami sets her pen down and puts her hands on the desk as she stands up. “Well if this is about me telling anyone. Like I told y/n, I will not expose your relationship.” she speaks assuring Lin. “You’ll swear to secrecy?” Lin glares at Asami to which both you and Asami share a weird glance then back at Lin. “Excuse me?” Asami looks at Lin as she folds her arms slightly amused by the situation. “Honey is that really necessary?” you speak out only receiving a glare from Lin when you call her honey in front of Asami and you step back hiding a smile. you cover your mouth as you look at Asami and give her a soft nod to continue to play along. Asami inhales and nods “Yes, I’ll swear to secrecy” she puts her hand up and promises. “If I ever find out anyone finds out that they heard it from you I will arrest you for treason.” Lin peers over Asami in an intimidating tone. Asami looked over Lin’s shoulder, and you shook your head quickly assuring her that Lin was bluffing. When Lin looks over at you, you quickly stop and just give her an innocent smile. Asami got the gist and assured Lin that she will not speak a word about your relationship to anyone. “Oh so Raava help me” she gave Lin a soft smile.
Driving back to the station you peer over to Lin as she sits in the passenger seat, “Well I think that went well…. everyone made it out alive, unscathed.” You joked softly as you turned back into the city limits as Lin doesn’t say anything. “Lin, if anyone had to find out from the group. I say we were pretty lucky that it was Asami. Anyone else and news would have spread faster than we could take a breath.” You look over at Lin again and she seems to be calming down and sighs deeply “you’re right, Asami is the least of our worries in that bunch”. You smile reaching over to give her hand a kiss, hearing Lin give in as you pull up to her apartment and get out to get to your cycle. “I’ll make it up to you for my mishap” you give Lin a smile as she rolls her eyes and slides over to the driver’s seat. “I’ll see you at the station” she calls out as you say it back while you put your helmet on and give her a thumbs up as you follow behind.
*
Looking over at the new recruits as they train and you’re barking out orders watching out for their stamina and agility through the course. You sigh at how many of them aren’t any better than the ones the previous day. “Alright head to the showers. You all are pathetic.” You bark out as an officer hands you a clipboard, “These recruits aren’t ready to go out onto the field” you mutter going down the list of recruits, writing down notes besides ones that caught your attention and others who were a mere disappointment. “Captain, the Chief is looking for you” an officer salutes standing at attention and you pinch the bridge of your nose “Very well”. Handing the recruits over to another colleague to beat them into shape you make way over to Lin’s office. Some officers acknowledge you and greet you as you step into the office before closing the door with a soft click. “Chief” you greet Lin but notice she’s on the phone and puts her finger up to quiet you. You stay standing while putting your hand behind your back as you hold onto the clipboard. Another minute and Lin finishes the phone call and returns her attention to you “Captain, how’s training with the new recruits?” You step up and hand her your clipboard “It’s hell. It seems like every time we let recruits join they get worse”. “You just have to train them harder” she reviews your comments and notes, “what about this one…uh Sheng, it says he shows promise.” You nod as you take a step forward towards her desk “Yes, he’s one of the better ones. smart, agile, still needs improvement though.”
“With these spirit vines we’re going to need more officers” Lin groans then puts the clipboard down “These recruits just need to get whipped into shape. They’ll be ready for the field” you reach down and get the clipboard. “You seem to be fitting well into your new rank” Lin looks over at you and smiles. “It’s an adjustment but I’m fitting in well” returning her smile.
*
Peace and tranquility fill your mind as you breathe in the evening air of Republic City from Lin’s terrace. “Evening, Captain” you hear your girlfriend’s voice coming up behind you waking you from your meditation. You smile then open your eyes to lift your head up and look over to see Lin walk to your side as she sets down a cup of tea on the table, “Evening, Chief”. Looking over at the cup you reach over and take it close to your lips and smell the aroma
“Spearmint?” you look over at Lin before taking a sip. “Figured you’ll want to end it with some stress-reducing tea”.
“Thank you. that’s considerate of you.” you take a deep breath before looking over at Lin “Funny story…. Bumi is planning to knit his spirit pet a sweater”
Lin scoffs a laugh “really? Do spirits even get cold”
“I don’t think so, but it’s sweet”
“It’s dumb”
“It gives him something to do. Tenzin mentioned he’s retired from the United Forces”
“Tenzin isn’t all glad about it. He still wishes Bumi rejoins.” Lin smirks causing both of you to chuckle while continuing to enjoy the night.
“You should join me for a session. It would help with the stress you’ve been having.” you smirk into your cup as you take another sip. “I have other ways to relieve stress if you want to join me for a session” she gives you a sly smirk as she leans against the doorframe “If it’s under my responsibilities then who am I to refuse my beautiful girlfriend” you eye Lin and watch her movements. She turns away from you and slowly walks away bending off her armor as she makes her way to the bedroom, “I’m waiting, Captain”. You bite your lip as you watch Lin walk away and set your cup down on the table. Quickly stand up, stepping inside the apartment and close the door before rushing after Lin. You step in the bedroom and grab Lin’s waist and turn her around to face you and kiss her deeply. Lin wraps her arms around your neck before bringing her hands down and starts grazing her nails up your abdomen lifting the hem of your tank up. The sensation of her nails causes you to gently bite her lower lip and a soft moan escapes her lips. She lifts your tank up and pulls it off of you before she plants her palm on your chest and pushes you back with a knowing smirk on both of your faces.
*
Sitting up in bed swinging your legs over the side as you look for your tank, Lin looks over and softly brushes her fingers up your back causing you to shiver as you fix your tank to put it on. “Just when they’re about to heal I end up opening them back up” she smirks as she looks at the scratch marks she’s left along your back “I wonder why” you deadpan “You should get them healed by a healer.” She mutters as she brushes her fingers along a fresh scratch mark “And say what? That I got attacked by a possum-chicken?” you laugh “Besides I like the burn, it’s a reminder of who put them there” you bite your lip as you turn over to look at your lover and lean towards her “You,” you growled as you dip your head to catch her lips, “Are the most amazing woman I’ve ever met.” you kissed her again, lingering for a moment before searching for your tank and slipping on some boxer style underwear letting out a groan as you get up. “I’m going to get us some water, feeling quite parched from that backbending session” you smirk and quickly duck out of the room before Lin can throw a pillow at you.
Sitting back in bed after quenching your thirst and handing a glass to Lin then looks down at the cup before speaking “It’s nice that at least someone knows about us and they that support it…it makes it feel more real” you bring the cup back up to your lips and take another sip. “Real?” Lin peers over at you as she sets the glass on the nightstand which causes you to nod “Yeah, like this isn’t some sort of evil dream that I don’t want to wake up from”. You gently tap on the glass before setting it aside. “It’s not a dream” Lin whispers as she looks at you and you return her glance, the both of you lean in and share a kiss “Thank the spirits it’s not” you mumble before cupping her cheek and deepening the kiss. Lin licks your bottom lip before pulling back “I need to clean up” she mumbles as she gets off the bed and walks to the bathroom.
You bite your lip and smile as you watch Lin walk away as she wraps her robe around her body heading towards the bathroom. Lin has been far more open to you and affectionate behind closed doors than before. You were wondering whether Harmonic Convergence had anything to do about it or the fact that Lin got laid. I’m going with the first option. If it was Harmonic Convergence you have to make a plan to thank a passing spirit.

thoughts on newtmas :) go on :) i’m listening :)
sami rly said ok time for violence. this is going to be so long sorry everyone.
if we’re talking newtmas itself as a ship in itself, outside of any other influence (and specifically in the movie version, which is generally what people are talking about), I think it’s a good ship. I would have to be the most unobservant motherfucker alive to not see what people see in it, and I am not, in fact, the most unobservant motherfucker alive. it’s a good dynamic with good chemistry and realistically I think if I’d started with the movies rather than the books, I would’ve gone all in for it.
however. I personally am incapable about talking about it in isolation.
I realize from that segue it sounds like I’m about to lead into some grand moral point, but mostly I just liked how dramatic it sounded. anyway. I feel like I need to start with a disclaimer that the easiest, simplest part of this is that you tend to get attached to your first ships in a fandom, as well as your initial feelings about the characters. obviously you can change your mind about any of those things, but it does stick with you. if we’re going to be kind and skip my internalized homophobia era (please be kind), I shipped thominho and nalby because that’s what was big at the time. I also just... did not like book thomas very much, so I wasn’t about to ship him with my favorite character.
(complete and utter tangent: it’s interesting to me that people read the books now and overwhelmingly see newtmas. I recognize that every time I start a sentence with “it’s interesting that” it automatically sounds shady, but i genuinely just love Analyzing. anyway some of it’s definitely people seeing the movie first or having fandom content as a first exposure even in passing, all of which are valid ways to engage, but I do kind of find it fascinating when people talk about book!newtmas as some massive presence because then... theoretically we all should’ve seen it pre-movies? the ship existed, usually among people who hardcore multishipped, but it wasn’t anything like it is today. not at all to say that reading it like that is invalid, it’s just interesting to me the way some people talk about that interpretation, rather than the interpretation itself)
anyway. with that all out of the way, i do have some actual issues with newtmas, although it really doesn’t have anything to do with the characters or the ship itself. these are things that surround the ship and affect my feelings about it, meaning that I never bought in despite, like I said, Seeing It. my main issue with it is how much the roles of other characters have been reduced to create the ship in its current form. I’ve talked at far too much length about the way minho was adapted and honestly will probably talk about it more, because that’s the big one to me (that post can be found here, for those who don’t keep up with every rant I’ve ever gone on for some reason). I will not go so far as to say that’s required reading to fully understand this post, but I would recommend it since I don’t want to just repeat myself. so much of newtmas being the major ship feels like it’s predicated on minho not being there and not having anywhere near as strong a relationship with thomas and newt as he did in the books, and that will never sit right with me.
newt’s relationship with alby is his other most significant dynamic outside thomas and minho, and i feel like it might be surprising to hear me say this, but i get why that one was reduced for the movie. there’s only so much time in the film, so you want to focus on the characters who are going to make it past the first one. I do have a problem here, but it has more to do with dashner and with some fandom bullshit. with dashner, i think the crank palace is the worst of it (I could’ve just stopped that sentence at “I think the crank palace is the worst” but whatever). since all my rants lead back to each other, I’ll link the relevant one here, but the general gist is that my biggest problem was that newt does not seem to have any more of a post-swipe past than thomas does despite theoretically having two more years of memories. given that fact, I don’t know about you, but I would kind of expect alby to be more of a presence in his consciousness. that’s true of pretty much any of the original gladers, but newt and alby are clearly very close in the first book, and again, alby saved his fucking life. he’s literally mentioned once. dashner prioritized the newt/thomas dynamic so much that newt seemingly had no meaningful relationships with anyone else. tcp isn’t immune to treating minho badly either; like I said in that post, it sounds like newt read the wikipedia page on minho. is any of this the fault of the ship itself? does this change anything that came before it? no, but the whole thing feels massively disingenuous, and also kind of disrespectful to people who actually, like, gave a shit about the other characters. also, the way he’s retconning makes me real nervous.
the other part, like I mentioned, is the fandom more than any of the actual content. I’m aware that part of this is just a statistics game and also that’s it’s not representative of all newtmas shippers, but most of the alby bashing I’ve seen comes from newtmas people. it’s... baffling to me, honestly. what’s the point in putting down a ship being kept alive by me and like 3 other people? what do you gain by misrepresenting a character to the point of maliciousness when you could easily just not engage with them? again, I know it’s not everyone and it doesn’t have anything to do with the ship, but I’d be lying if I said things like this don’t color my perception. if someone goes out of their way to put down a ship I like, I’m not really gonna want to associate myself with their ship. I’m gonna cling to my own harder out of spite, actually.
also.... okay. so I peaced out to go do other shit between earlyish 2015 and mid 2019. and it was very weird to temporarily leave the fandom while the two main (in my recollection at least, which could be biased by who i was friends with) mlm ships each included one of the explicitly non-white characters, and come back to find it almost entirely dominated by white boy/white boy... like. I don’t wanna make a statement as simple as “the fandom is racist” because a) it’s not my place to say that, b) if we want to go into that, there are other examples of fandom racism where it’s Blatant and there really is no excuse, whereas this is a bit more complicated imo because c) like. that’s the dynamic the movies gave us. the movies focused very heavily on the newt and thomas dynamic, so of course that’s what the fandom is going to focus on. there’s a lot to say there, but that’s a different issue. it does.... still contribute to the bad taste in my mouth, though, and also contributes to me feeling like I need to keep those ships alive. it’s not about who has the Most Progressive Ship, I just feel weird about the particular shift I’ve seen here.
on a note that sounds less like I’m leveling accusations, New Relationships just aren’t my vibe. you look at my ao3 and it’s like. friends of many years to lovers. established relationship. friends to lovers to exes and back again. just from a dynamics perspective, there are other ships that are more interesting for me to explore. there. this is a lighter reason.
idk overall I don’t wanna sound like I’m on some Moral Crusade here, even though i know some of my points made it sound like that. this is really just me putting all of my thoughts that I can currently round up in one place in order to... idk, explain myself? and like it’s stupid that i feel the need to explain myself, but I know it’s weird not to ship it at this point, and I know if I did I would have so much more content to choose from and a much wider audience for my own content. there’s just baggage there thats entirely separate from the ship itself, having seen the shift and knowing what had to change in order to center newtmas. I’m not trying to sound like I’m better than anyone; I just think maybe I have a different perspective on things having been here for long enough to qualify it as a new mental illness, and that’s ultimately why I feel the way I do.
#and honestly maybe all of that is bullshit and I’m just a contrarian asshole at heart. who’s to say. not me.#why did I write so much about this. they’re literally fake people who gives a fuck#ask game

Pairing: Nasty Suicide x Reader
Author’s Note: I want to apologize for how long these imagines have been taking me. Lately, I just feel like my writing is turning out like shit, and I never wanna give you guys something that I don’t think is good. Anyways, ignore my pity party, and enjoy this!
ALSO, this one does focus heavily on having a kid with Nasty and pregnancy is sort of implied (but I tried to keep it open towards other means of becoming a parent), so if that’s not your thing, I’m sorry.
The sound of your own laughter stopped you in your tracks as you carried a basket of laundry down the hall. You tilted your head in confusion. It wasn’t every day that you heard your own voice echoing from another room in the house.
“Nasty,” you called, knowing that he was somewhere around. “What are you doing?” You had a feeling your lover was behind this.
Sure enough, Nasty’s voice responded from the same direction of the familiar laughter you heard earlier.
“In here!”
You put down the laundry and followed his voice to the living room, where you found him lounging on the couch, entranced by the home videos playing on the television screen. He was still clad in his boxers and a t shirt, not yet dressed for the day. A steaming cup of coffee was perched on the end table.
“What are you watching these for?” you asked as you made your way over to him and joined him on the couch.
Not taking his eyes of the screen, Nasty shrugged. “Dunno,” he said. “Just saw the tape and decided to put it in.”
You looked to the screen to see what was going on. On the TV, a younger version of the two of you were giving a tour of your new home to your good friend, Razzle, who was behind the camera filming.
“Over here,” Nasty said, walking into the master bedroom, “is my favorite room.” The room was sparsely decorated, you and Nasty had only a sparse amount of money leftover from your first deposit on the house.
Razzle piped up from behind the video camera. “Why’s that?” he asked as he panned the camera around the room.
You rolled your eyes as a wolfish grin came across Nasty’s face.
“Well,” he said, waggling his eyebrows, “me and (Y/N) have a lot of fun in here if you catch my drift.”
Razzle made a gagging sound in the background as you and Nasty burst into simultaneous bouts of laughter.
“Come on,” you said once you’d regained your composure. “I’ll show you the kitchen.”
The video cut out a few moments after that and skipped ahead to another date in time. This time you and Nasty’s friends sat gathered in the very same living room you were currently sitting in, talking amongst themselves.
You snuggled up next to Nasty, who swung an arm around your shoulders, as you watched the scene unfold. You had to admit to yourself that watching these snippets from your past brought back a wonderful feeling of nostalgia.
“What’s with the camera?” Michael asked, looking directly into the lens. His eyeliner was heavy and made his blue eyes pop loudly. He looked younger and his hair was long.
Nasty must have been the one holding it because you suddenly came into frame wearing a huge smile.
“Well,” you said, “We have something to tell you guys.” This earned the attention of all your guests. You wrung your hands nervously in front of you. After a beat of silence, you finally spoke again. “Me and Nasty,” you began, looking over to the man behind the camera for moral support, “we’re going to have a baby.”
Shouts of surprise and excitement immediately filled the room. You couldn’t quite make out what anyone in particular was saying as everyone was speaking over each other. Sami, one of your best friends, was the first to stand and engulf you in a hug. He leaned in to whisper something into your ear.
The video paused and you looked over to see Nasty holding the remote. He turned to you with a sentimental look.
“Do you remember that day?” he asked you.
“Yeah,” you hummed. “If feels like just yesterday.”
He nodded his head in agreement with you. “It’s hard to believe it’s been five years.”
As if on cue, your son’s footsteps could suddenly be heard coming down the hall. He appeared in the doorway shortly after, dark fluffy hair sticking up in every direction and his pajama clad body practically bouncing with the energy only a four-year-old seemed capable of possessing.
“I dreamed about an airplane last night!” he cheered upon entering the room. He clambered his way onto the couch without invitation and wiggled his way between you and Nasty.
Nasty smiled down fondly at the child. “That’s super cool bud,” he said, ruffling his son’s hair.
“What are you watching?” the little boy asked, eyes instantly drawn to the colorful images paused on the television.
“Home videos,” you responded. “Videos from before you were born.”
“Is that Uncle Sami?” he asked, pointing to the frozen screen. Sami and you stood mid-embrace.
“Yeah,” you said. “This is right after we told everyone that you’d be joining our family.”
Your son’s big blue eyes squinted at the screen, trying to make out what was going on. “Was he happy?” he asked.
“Everyone was happy,” Nasty answered.
Your son nodded, content with that response, and turned his focus back to the TV.
Nasty took the hint to unpause the video.
The hug between you and Sami faded out as a new video began. This one, weeks later, at a birthday party for Nasty. You were filming for a change and had the camera pointed to Nasty who was seated on the couch opening birthday presents from his mates.
He was pulling the tissue paper out of a gift bag as he joked around with Andy and Razzle. They were sitting next to him, balancing plates of cake on their laps.
Finally, Nasty pulled the gift out of the bag and held it up. It was a shirt, made for a baby, with the words, “future drummer” written across it. The gift, of course, was from Razzle.
Everyone laughed while Nasty jokingly rolled his eyes at the present.
“No way!” he playfully argued, putting the shirt down. “My kid’s gonna be a guitar player.”
“Yeah!” Andy sided.
Razzle was quick to retort with a list of reasons as to why drums were a much better instrument than guitar could ever be. You kept on filming, entertained greatly by the scene in front of you.
“Hey!” Mike cut in, pulling the attention to him. “What about saxophone?”
Shouts of disapproval could be heard before the video cut out and skipped ahead.
You and Nasty both laughed at the memory while your son looked confused.
“I want to play drums,” he said, sticking out his bottom lip in a pout.
“You do?” you asked, surprised. He’d never said anything about that before this moment. “You’re already learning guitar.”
Your son nodded determinately. “I want to know both.”
Nasty shifted to look at him. “Hmm, I see,” he said. “I guess I can call Uncle Raz today and see about getting you some lessons,” he said.
Your son screamed with joy and threw his arms around Nasty’s neck. Your heart swelled at the sight of your two favorite boys sharing such a sweet moment. Your son had turned out just like Nasty, not just in looks, but in personality as well. He seemed shy and reserved in public, but around his friends and family he was always talking and making everyone laugh. He absolutely loved music too. Nasty had begun to teach him guitar when he was just two. The boy had begged to learn as soon as he knew how to. You felt extremely lucky to have the two of them in your life.
You turned your head as Nasty switched on the home videos one more time.
“Babe, look at him.”
You were holding the camera once again. It was aimed at Nasty, but this time, he was standing in the nursery looking down fondly into the crib.
You panned the camera over as to catch sight of the baby sleeping soundly inside.
“He’s adorable,” you whispered, careful to keep your voice lowered so you wouldn’t wake the baby.
“He’s perfect,” Nasty corrected. He looked up and you brought the camera back to focus on his face. “I love you,” he said, “and I love him. My perfect family.”
You leaned over your son and captured Nasty’s lips in a quick kiss, feeling nothing but overwhelming love for the man sitting next to you. He returned your kiss hungrily.
“Ew,” your son whined from beneath you. His nose crinkled up in disgust.
“Ew?” Nasty said, feigning shock. “I’ll show you mister!” he declared before grabbing hold of your son, pulling him onto his lap and covering the giggling boy’s face with kisses.
“I love you too,” you answered off-screen. “I love you both.”

Secret pt. 3, 2/6
(1/6)
5 times Geralt and Jaskier use the “secret” language and get away with it, and 1 time someone understands them
This time, it got naughty. (Some sexual content ahead!)
2.
Jaskier and Geralt are both pleasantly tipsy. They’ve drunk the right amount of moonshine to get to that point - not much of the alcohol was needed, even for Geralt, as it’s devilishly strong - and now enjoy the festival. Or rather, would enjoy, if not for one thing.
“Belletyn festival, my supple ass,” Jaskier mutters under his breath, “More like a festival of simpering.”
Geralt almost snorts into his drink. Jaskier’s grouchy demeanour would be endearing on a normal day but in his current state, the witcher finds it hilarious. He laughs at Jaskier’s grumpy frown as the bard keeps grumbling about some people not taking a hint.
Jaskier enjoys compliments and attention from adoring fans a lot, but he’s very recently discovered that even he has his limits. It turns out that all the maidens (and few bachelors) of the town competing to catch his eye is what crosses the line. Ever since the day’s celebrations began, seemingly everyone wants to talk to Jaskier and pay him a cheap compliment. As a result, the bard barely has had a moment to spend by his witcher’s side. Geralt was cornered by admirers at some point as well but he, at least, had the luxury of being his blunt, silent self. Most people quickly left him alone.
Unfortunately, there’s a handful of women who aren’t put off by Geralt’s dismissal and Jaskier’s lack of reciprocation. Some of them actually seem interested in both the White Wolf and his bard. Not that Jaskier and Geralt would reject such an opportunity altogether. They’ve been committed to each other for more than a year now and, however satisfying their sex life is (which it is, definitely), they do miss the pleasure of bedding a woman once in a while. There’s an easy enough solution to that - sometimes a lady, or two ladies, sleeps with them with or without charge. Tonight, however, Geralt and Jaskier aren’t in the mood for sharing.
Tonight, they can’t get their eyes off each other. Torches and a large bonfire light up the town square, and the White Wolf and Jaskier the bard are transfixed by the sight of one another as flickering firelight illuminates their faces. The spring air is warm and fresh, the people all around them are a flurry of motion, music and merriment. The crowd surrounds them but, for the first time this evening, they’re left alone. Tension of the sweetest kind starts brewing between them.
"Wiesz co bym zrobił, gdybyśmy byli sami?" You know what I’d do if we were alone? Jaskier asks. Several people nearby take note of a foreign language being spoken and observe them curiously but Jaskier goes on, unwavering, “Rozebrałbym cię bardzo, bardzo powoli, całując bez przerwy.” I’d undress you very, very slowly, kissing you all the while. The bard’s voice is now husky and seductive. Geralt inhales sharply, arousal pooling low in his abdomen.
There’s something exhilarating about saying such things with so many people watching. Jaskier knows this and continues, loud and clear, “Nie mógłbyś dotykać siebie ani mnie." You wouldn't be allowed to touch yourself or me. Geralt’s breath hitches and Jaskier smirks. “Mógłbyś tylko patrzeć jak zdejmuję ubrania.” You could only watch as I take off my clothes. Jaskier’s hand starts moving down Geralt’s chest, unrushed, torturous, sending thrills of anticipation through the witcher’s body. The bard bits down at his lower lip and peers at Geralt with hooded eyes. “Musiałbyś wytrzymać kiedy robię ci dobrze ustami.” You’d have to take it as I pleasure you with my mouth, Jaskier rasps, and the sound nearly drives the witcher mad. “Tak bardzo chcę usłyszeć twoje głośne jęki.” I want to hear you loud moans so badly.
That is when Geralt can’t bear it anymore. “Jaskier,” he grits out, tugging the bard harshly towards him so that there isn’t an inch of space left between their bodies. Jaskier lets out a squeak of protest at the rough treatment but Geralt silences him with a sharp nip at the tip of his ear. Then, the witcher takes his revenge - he growls into Jaskier’s ear the one sentence that he knows affects his bard the most, “Jesteś mój.” You’re mine.
Jaskier shudders in his arms. “Tylko twój.” Only yours, he replies breathily.
“You have no idea what I’m about to do to you,” Geralt threatens as he already drags Jaskier towards the closest dark alley he can spot.
“Are you going to demonstrate,” Jaskier answers cheekily, with the gall only he can muster, “or just keep talking?”
Geralt devotes the next hour for putting him in place.

Made-up title fic (from my other blog):
“Somebody else”.
Synopsis: Sami and Kevin. You couldn't mention one without the other. They were inseparable, joined at the hip. They've done it all...including that and doing that would change their lives forever.
Warning: NSFW for mature content. Do not read if you’re under 18.
A/N: Gif of Kevin doesn't belong to me, credit to the original owner.
***Flashback***
Kevin could feel the butterflies fluttering in his stomach. It had been so long since their last encounter, but he still remembers the night vividly. They were young and curious, probably in their early 20's. Kevin, ever the romantic, decides to set the mood by playing "When."
Their eyes lock, hearts beating fast. After glancing Sami over one last time, Kevin leans in, capturing his lips in a tender kiss. It didn't take long for the kiss to deepen. Fingers tangling in hair, tongues eagerly exploring each other's mouths. When things become heated and Kevin presses Sami into the mattress, the redhead resists his advances. A look of concern etched across Kevin's features.
Sami flashes him a reassuring smile, reaching up to cup his cheek. "Kev, before we go any further, I want you to promise me something." His voice soft, as his gaze remains fixed on Kevin. "You have to promise you won't fall in love with me."
Kevin furrows his brow, the very notion making him chuckle. "Don't flatter yourself." He quips, gripping Sami's chin and guiding him toward his lips, pressing them roughly against his own with need.
The lights were dim, but he could still detect every detail of Sami's face. Soft moans echoing off of paper thin walls, promises whispered in the dark. Fingers interlaced, as Kevin's thrusts deepen. Their bodies drenched in sweat, melding together to become one.
***End of flashback***
Kevin's shaken from his reverie upon hearing his name. The familiar voice ringing out, causing his heart to flutter. "Sami." He says a little too excitedly, rising to his feet and toppling over in the process.
"Kev." Sami says, glancing over his shoulder to bid a fond farewell to Finn who dropped him off. "I wasn't expecting you so early."
Kevin could sense Sami isn't alone, as he shoves the redhead aside to peer down the hallway. "Who was that?" He asks, turning to face him.
"It's just Finn, Kev." Sami replies with an amused chuckle, noting the jealousy in his tone. "You're behaving like a jealous husband. What's gotten into you?"
Sami's choice of words causes his heart to skip a beat. He would be more than willing to drop down on one knee right now if it meant Sami would say yes. "I'm sorry." He replies rather sheepishly. "The thought of you being with somebody else tears me up inside."
A knowing smirk graces Sami's lips as he reaches out to cup his cheek. "You have nothing to worry about." He soothes, caressing Kevin's skin with his fingertips. "I'm not the bulging muscles type."
Upon hearing this the envy slowly fades, Sami's reassurance putting his mind at ease. "Do you remember what you said to me that night?" Kevin softly asks, tears brimming his warm brown eyes as they meet Sami's. "You had me promise I wouldn't fall in love with you." His voice starting to tremble. "I've never been good at keeping promises."
Sami's smile grows wider and his heart beat faster. He couldn't believe Kevin remembered the pact they made all those years ago. His hazel eyes shining brightly, as they remain fixed on Kevin. "I knew you wouldn't be able to resist me." He quips with a smug grin.
"Don't flatter yourself." Kevin counters, history repeating itself as he grips Sami's chin, guiding his lips to his own in a passionate kiss.
************************************************************************
Bonus scene (because I had to):
The pair lay in bed holding on to one another. Sami resting his head on Kevin's chest, listening contently to his heartbeat. The room peacefully silent, besides for rain drops hitting the window.
Kevin runs his fingers through Sami's wavy crimson locks, when a thought occurs to him. "You called me a jealous husband."
Hearing Kevin mention this elicits a giggle from the redhead. "That's what you were acting like." He replies, smiling as he meets his gaze.
Seeing Sami look at him with that smile, he feels as if he is floating. It's the most beautiful sight he'd ever seen, a sight he'd love to wake up to every morning. "Would you ever want to...?" He trails off, hoping Sami would understand what he's implying.
The smile all but vanishes from Sami's lips, his face lighting up at the mere thought. "Kev, are you proposing?" He softly asks, his heart pounding so hard he thought it might explode out of his chest.
Kevin's face is flushed red at this point, as he manages to stammer out nervously: "I-I mean...wo-would y-"
"Yes!" Sami interjects, lifting himself off of the mattress to brush his lips tenderly against Kevin's. "You just made me the happiest man in the world." He adds, pressing his forehead gently against Kevin's. Eager to see what the future holds for them.

You felt your chest tighten, and a wave of nausea hit you. You hadn’t expected to receive a message at all, let alone when you were without the company of your friends. Your hands were shaking, and you weren’t sure what to do.
So, you opened the message.
Sorry for the late reply. I took this picture at a party Wednesday night. A few of us on the soccer team decided to go to this house party in Corellia. Shawn was flirting with this girl all night, but I never got a good shot of them together until I found them making out on the couch. I asked some of the guys about it, and Dylan said that he’d been seriously talking to this girl for about a month.
It was like your heart broke all over again. The walls felt like they were closing in, and you felt like you couldn’t breath. It would have been one thing if this was a one time thing, caused by some drunken stupor, but knowing that he’d been talking to this girl before then? It crushed every part of you. Only one thought stuck out in the cascading river of emotions: Why wasn’t I good enough?
With a choked sob, you let your tears fall freely. You needed to talk to someone, desperately. You knew that if you bottled this knowledge up, it wouldn’t be long before you went crazy. Kylo wasn’t really an option, after all he would probably insist you sit with him outside, and you weren’t quite mentally ready to leave your room at the moment. You definitely didn’t want to call any of your old friends. You had barely talked to them recently, you felt it would be shitty of you to just dump all of this on them.
So, you decided to dial Sami.
It took two rings before Sami picked up, and when she did, you were still sobbing.
“(y/n)? What happened?” she said, her voice slightly distorted through the phone. Through your sobs and tears, you read her the message the sender of the picture had sent you.
“Fuck that. What an asshole,” was her response.
“I just d-d-don’t get it,” you said, trying to wipe away your tears as you began to calm down. “Why wasn’t I enough for him?” It almost felt stupid to ask, but it was how you honestly felt.
“Sweetie, don’t think like that. It’s not your fault he couldn’t keep his hands to himself,” she assured you with a stern tone. “Men like Shawn never realize that they have something good until they lose it.”
Your mind, however lacking in rationality it was right now, knew that what Sami was saying was true. That didn’t stop your heart from feeling like it was ripping in two. You were planning your life with this man. As stupid as that sounded, especially in retrospect, you had hoped the two of you would spend your lives together. Even though you already knew that wasn’t going to happen, the hurt of the fact that he’d been flirting with someone behind your back told you that he hadn’t thought like that, or even worse, that he could fool around and have you waiting for him. It made his insistence to talk to you all the more unbearable. Why would he want you back if he’d been talking to this unnamed girl for a month?
“Are you gonna talk to Kylo about this?” Sami said, breaking the silence you’d created. You thought about the question for a moment, and wondered whether you should.
“No,” you decided, a hiccup proceeding your words. “If Kylo finds out, he’ll beat Shawn’s ass.”
“You’re right. Kylo doesn’t fuck around with cheaters. I’m surprised he hasn’t already beat Shawn’s ass,” Sami mused. “Look, try to keep yourself distracted, and think ahead to Friday. I’m assuming you got permission?”
“Yeah. We need to take a picture together when I get there, so I can send it to my mom. I had to tell her about dinner with the Skywalkers, and obviously, she doesn’t trust Kylo,” you responded. Sami was right, the best thing you could do was try to look forward to Friday.
The two of you talked a while longer, until you had fully calmed down. Not long after, your mom called you for dinner, so you said your goodbyes and hung up. It wasn’t until after you’d hung up that you remembered that Sami said she’d recognized the girl in the photo. You pondered on whether or not to call her back after dinner, but you ultimately decided that you couldn’t handle that knowledge tonight.
***
Wednesday and Thursday passed by in a blur. Wednesday morning, when you’d gotten into Kylo’s car, he’d asked if you were alright, but you answered rather placidly.
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
Thankfully, that had been enough for Kylo, and you were content with holding off the slaughter for another day, but you knew eventually, Kylo would find out. You were just worried that Kylo would get worse than house arrest when he did.
Wednesday had passed by quickly, probably because you had spent a good portion of the day spacing out, choosing not to be present in any conversations. As much as you wanted to pretend that you were fine, you most certainly were not, and you were glad that no one had pressed the matter. You suspected that either Sami or Kylo had informed them not to.
The drive home Wednesday was silent, Kylo choosing to play music instead of forcing you to talk. You listened to the music, preferring the music over your tumultuous thoughts. The more you listened, the more you realised that Kylo had really good taste in music. You began to sway your head to the music.
When Kylo pulled into the driveway, you gathered your backpack, prepared to say a quick goodbye before making a beeline for your house, but Kylo laid a hand over yours as he turned to look at you.
“Look, I don’t expect you to tell me what happened, but I can only assume it has to do with Shawn. I just want you to know that if you ever need catharsis without having to talk about anything, let me know. I have plenty of glass bottles to break,” he said, the corner of his lip turning up in a smirk as he said the last part. You looked into his brown eyes, and where most people saw coldness, you felt a great sense of warmth. Something about Kylo’s presence had become really comforting to you.
“I’ll let you know,” you said with a smile before leaning across the dash to give him a hug. As you wrapped your arms around him, he did the same, and you breathed in the smell of fir and cedar, along with faint hints of cigarette smoke. Damn, how did someone who smelt like cigs manage to smell so good?
When you let go, you gave one last smile before departing the car, heading for the door to your house.
Thursday was a lot better, but your thoughts still plagued your mind. It was now a week since you’d received the photo, knowledge that would tear you apart. It was amazing how, even within a week, you felt you had changed so much. You’d always been warned that your first break-up would do that to you, but you’d never expected to break up with Shawn, and you certainly never expected him to cheat on you.
As you walked out the door, lunch bag in hand, you noticed that Kylo was talking to someone. Upon further inspection, you realised it was his grandfather.
“Well, make sure you’re calling your mother. She says you haven’t spoken to her, other than sending one word responses to her texts. She worries about you, you know,” Mr Skywalker said, his arms crossed over his chest. Kylo looked away from his grandfather, scratching the back of his head.
“Yeah, I will later,” he responded in a mutter. You wouldn’t have heard him if you hadn’t been walking towards them.
“Good morning, miss (y/l/n)!” Mr Skywalker said as he noticed you walking towards them. Kylo turned around to see you, and gave you his signature half smile.
“Good morning, Mr. Skywalker,” you responded as you fell into place beside Kylo, giving him a smile. He smiled right back at you. You had always liked the Skywalkers. Even though you hadn’t really talked to them all that much, they were nice to you whenever you did.
“Alright, well drive safe, Kylo,” he said, turning back to his grandson. “Love you.”
“Love you, too, Granpa,” Kylo responded before turning away and heading towards his car. You gave Mr. Skywalker a final wave goodbye before making your way to the passenger side of the car.
As you climbed into the car, Kylo turned on the engine, and you put your seatbelt on, settling into the seat. Admittedly, listening to Kylo and Mr. Skywalker's talk was a little heartwarming.
“I didn’t know your Granpa called you Kylo,” you said as Kylo pulled out of the driveway. When you turned to look at the window, Mr. Skywalker was sitting on the porch, waving goodbye.
“He’s the only one who does. Said he was the same way when he was my age, which Gran confirmed. It’s part of the reason I like Granpa the best,” Kylo said as he drove. “You excited for tomorrow?”
You had been so caught up in your sorrow you nearly forgot that tomorrow was Friday. As soon as you remembered, you could feel the excitement begin to build within you.
“Yeah. I’ve never been to a party before. At least, not an actual high school party,” you admitted, feeling a little embarrassed. You were sure Kylo had gone to his fair share of parties in his day, and the thought made you feel kind of amateurish.
“Parties aren’t really my thing, I just like to smoke and drink. Being crossfaded is a nice feeling. But, Jordan has a lot of college friends. That’s why she decided to go to Coruscant Central. All of her college friends are there. But, because she has so many college friends, her parties are more like college parties. A lot more drinks, and a lot more drugs,” Kylo said.
You felt your chest tighten slightly. You’d never once had anything to drink, and you definitely had never tried any drugs. The idea was certainly daunting.
Kylo, probably sensing your unease, turned to sneak a peek at you before looking back at the road.
“Look, you don’t have to try anything you don’t want to. Usually, Jordan’s friends only ever bring weed. There was a time they brought acid, but they won’t pressure you into taking anything. They’re all chill people,” he assured you. It did make you feel a little better. If Kylo trusted them, then you would trust them.
The rest of the drive was spent in silence, and the silence continued as the two of you waited to be allowed into the building. Once inside, Kylo walked with you until it was time for your paths to diverge. He waved at you, and you waved back, giving him a half smile before heading off to first block.
Instead of the nice and quick passage of time that you’d lived through the first three days of school, your first two blocks passed by agonizingly slow. It almost felt as if someone was controlling time, making your economics teacher speak in slow motion, and the ticking of the clock to be abnormally slow. The feeling made you want to pull your hair out. It gave you too much time to think, and that was the last thing you wanted. You really wished there was a way to get your mind to stop thinking for once, and just be empty-headed with no emotions.
Naturally, second block was no better, and you had to resist the urge to bang your head on the desk as you took notes, trying your hardest to pay attention to what your math teacher was saying. You kept stealing glances at your phone, and at one point, you saw a text message show up on your lock screen. Glancing up at the front, you noticed how your teacher, Mrs. Portman, was looking solely at the board. You had another advantage, as you sat at the very back of the class. Unlocking your phone, you saw a message from Kylo.
Apparently Shawn already thinks we’re flirting, cause Dylan just came up to me and threatened me. Confused, you started to type back.
Really? What did he say? Also, what class do you have with Dylan? As you sent the message, you carefully placed your phone beside your notebook and looked up at the board so as to not raise suspicion. You knew Mrs. Portman wouldn’t give you detention for having your phone out, but she would certainly give you a stern talking to. You did, however, keep glancing at your phone waiting for a response. When your screen lit up, you checked to make sure you weren’t being watched before looking back down.
Said I had no right to be flirting with “Shawn’s girl,” and that I need to back off. Also, I have weight training with him.
You tried to stifle a laugh. Yeah, what Dylan, Shawn’s best friend and confidante, said to Kylo was annoying, especially since you now knew more about the situation than before, but you couldn’t help but laugh at the idea that Kylo took weight training. Imagining Kylo Ren lifting weights was an odd thought.
Funny, considering Dylan flirts with girls before they even break up with their boyfriends. Dylan certainly had a reputation as a womanizer. He probably would’ve flirted with you, too, if you hadn’t been dating Shawn.
Some men truly only think with their smaller head.
You shook your head at Kylo’s response before typing up a response of your own.
Never thought of it that way. Of course, I can’t imagine that head has a very long neck attached to it.
Have you seen the truck he drives? He’s definitely compensating. You tried hard not to laugh again. Finally, someone said what you’d been thinking for almost two years.
The bell rang, and you let out a sigh of relief as you packed your stuff back into your backpack, and headed off to lunch.
In the cafeteria, the same level of noise rang throughout the hall, and you were glad you always brought your own lunch as you looked at the line before heading to the courtyard for lunch. It was a beautiful day today, and the sun warmed your skin as soon as you stepped outside, peering around before you spotted Sami and Alan, who were already sitting side by side.
“How are you feeling today?” Sami asked as you sat down next to her, pulling some fruit snacks out of your lunch bag.
“Better. Still pissed, but better,” you assured her. You popped one of the fruit snacks into your mouth before looking up, seeing Kylo and Phasma walking side by side, the two in deep conversation.
“I told her I didn’t really feel comfortable with them coming, but she promised they would behave,” Phasma said as she and Kylo sat down, Kylo sitting next to you.
“I fucking hope so. I thought Milo might get arrested, he almost beat the shit out of Andrew,” Kylo said.
“You guys aren’t talking about Andrew and Lauren, are you?” Sami said, looking between Kylo and Phasma.
“Yeah, Jordan invited them to come tomorrow, but she said she doesn’t really think they’ll come,” Phasma answered.
“Who are they?” You asked, curious about people potentially coming to the party, especially since Sami seemed worried when she asked about them.
“Assholes. Andrew and Lauren are two of Jordan’s friends who already go to CCU. They cause drama with Milo each time, and Andrew keeps looking at me like he’s looking for a fight with me next. Can’t say I’m shocked, I think he lives to get his ass beat,” Kylo said before stealing one of your fruit snacks. You playfully punched his arm as he popped it into his mouth.
“On top of that, Lauren keeps trying to sleep with Jordan. Jordan keeps saying that she’s only like that when she’s fucked up, but she’s always giving me dirty looks,” Phasma said, picking at her food.
Kylo typed something on his phone before showing the screen to you. Phasma and Jordan are dating. That did clarify things.
“Well, let’s hope Jordan’s right, and they won’t even bother showing up. After all, they’re gonna have all this time with Jordan once their semester starts,” Sami said with resignation, taking a sip of the soda she was drinking.
“I don’t feel like being here tomorrow,” Phasma said before heaving a sigh.
“I can’t skip. All of my teachers are friends with my grandfather, not to mention my uncle,” Kylo said with a frown. “I think they did it on purpose.”
“Wouldn’t surprise me, after all your mother is very well-to-do in town, on top of the fact that she’s a government official,” Alan offered. “You got into a lot of trouble last year especially.”
“That’s because Stella would drag me across the state,” Kylo huffed out, a frown forming on his face. You put your hand on his under the table, and he gave you a half-smile.
“We also barely ever saw you then. It’s a miracle they didn’t hold you back,” Sami noted.
“They can’t say I’m not smart,” was Kylo’s response.
When lunch was over, the five of you split your separate ways, and you and Kylo walked to physics.
“You know what we should do?” Kylo said as the two of you pushed your way through the crowd of students in order to get to the physics room.
“What?” you asked, looking up at him.
“Fan the flame,” was all Kylo said, before he held out his hand for you to take. With a smirk, and a rush of excitement in your heart, you took his hand, lacing your fingers with his.
The initial discomfort of how large his hand was compared to yours was overtaken by how well your fingers seemed to lace together with his. Even though his hands were a little rough, nothing about holding his hand felt unnatural, like you’d expected it to.
Walking into the classroom with each other’s hands clasped caused about as much of a stir as you thought it would, and oddly enough, some sick part of you enjoyed it. You enjoyed the whispers of people as the two of you walked to sit at your lab table.
“Did you see that?”
“I guess she’s going for bad boys now.”
“What a way to throw away her future.”
You ignored them- doing so was becoming a sport to you- and you pulled your stuff out of your bag, and prepared to take notes for the day. Kylo leaned over to whisper in your ear, clearly getting as close as he was for dramatic effect.
“Someone’s fuming. Feels like daggers are being stared into my back,” he said to you before sitting up straight and pulling out his own notebook. You didn’t dare look behind you, and instead decided to laugh. Amazing how the simple act of holding hands could get someone so heated.
Physics passed by quickly, probably because you were now in the company of a friend. Between taking notes from the board, you and Kylo would draw on each other’s notebooks, or write notes for each other, trying your hardest to keep from laughing.
The two of you made sure to hold hands walking out, as well, and you laughed all the way to English.
“I only caught a glimpse of his face, but damn was the motherfucker mad,” Kylo said, withdrawing his hand from yours as the two of you entered Mr. Skywalker’s classroom. A very small part of you missed the warmth of his hands when he did.
“Good. I hope his blood boils so much that his head pops off,” you joked as the two of you sat down behind Phasma and Sami.
“What are you two so chipper about?” Phasma asked, turning to face the two of you.
“Just pissing off Satan himself,” you answered, pulling things from your backpack.
“Amazing how holding hands can bring so much anger to one person,” Kylo mused as Mr. Skywalker stood, looking around the room and taking attendance as the late bell rang.
English passed by as quickly as it could, with people reading a book written in old English aloud. You simply ignored them, opting to read ahead and block out the voices. When you glanced over at Kylo, you saw he wasn’t even paying attention. He noticed you looking at him, and wrote on the corner of his notebook.
I read this over the summer.
You rolled your eyes. I guess it made sense, if his uncle already knew that Kylo was going to be in class, and Kylo was under house arrest over the summer.
Did you read all the books for class? You wrote in his notebook. Kylo quickly wrote back before sliding the notebook to you discreetly.
Not Midsummer Night’s Dream. I didn’t feel like reading a play.
You decided to turn away, with a shake of your head, and keep reading ahead. If you finished the book early, you could get a head start on the essay.
Once Mr. Skywalker announced the class finished for the day, you tore a piece of paper and used it as a bookmark for where you’d left off in the book before stowing your stuff away into your backpack.
“I’m skipping tomorrow, sorry Kylo,” Phasma said as she and Sami turned to face the two of you. “I’m gonna help Jordan set up.”
“Jealous. I guess I’ll see you there,” Kylo responded. “What about you, Sami?”
“I’m gonna come, I can’t let you two suffer alone,” Sami said, checking her phone. You felt your phone buzz, and you picked it up from the desk, unlocking it to see a message from Rey.
Can we talk tonight? I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever, the text read. You smiled before typing onto your keyboard.
Yeah! I’ve been meaning to call you. You sent the message as the bell rang, and the four of you rose from your seats. Like usual, the four of you walked together, travelling with the crowd like a school of fish all headed for the entrance of the school, relieved the school day was over and the weekend was almost here. You and Kylo departed from Phasma and Sami before heading to Kylo’s car, deciding to sit in the parking lot for a while before heading home. Kylo pulled out a cigarette as he leaned against the hood of his car. You did the same, watching as people scrambled to their cars. You felt so disconnected from everyone now, you realised. When you were dating Shawn, you were a part of the popular crowd, everyone knew and liked you, and you had plenty of friends. Now, you were beginning to become an outcast. But, as you watched Kylo smoke his cigarette, you couldn’t help but be thankful for that. Even though people like Rey, Finn, and the others were genuine people, a lot of the people Shawn had been friends with weren’t, and Kylo’s crowd was a hell of a lot more accepting than any of them. In four days, you’d made amazing new friends, and you couldn’t help but be thankful.
“What?” Kylo asked when he caught you staring at him. Your face flushed from embarrassment, and you turned away, looking out at the crowd of students before smiling.
“Nothing. I’m just really grateful that you guys just kind of took me in,” you said.
“We used to be great friends. Besides, I figured you would appreciate friends who understand more. Not to be dramatic, but none of us have had it easy. It just makes it easier for us to connect to each other,” Kylo explained before tossing the cigarette butt on the ground and stomping it out.
The two of you got into the car and silently drove home. Something you noticed- that you weren’t quite ready to tell Kylo- was how at ease Kylo made you. Though the torrential waves of emotion coursed through you normally, any time you were near Kylo, the sea inside you was calmed, and you felt like you could actually enjoy life for a few brief moments.
When the two of you pulled up to the cul de sac, you saw the two old men sitting on the porch at the Skywalker house. One was obviously the older Mr. Skywalker, chatting away to the man next to him, who you recognized as Mr. Kenobi. Kylo pulled into the driveway and let out a sigh.
“Great, now I get to be asked a lot of questions,” Kylo said with a huff, pushing his black hair out of his face before shutting off the engine. You stepped out of the car, closing the door behind you as you waited for Kylo to get out so you could say goodbye.
“Well, hello (y/n),” Mr. Kenobi called out as he noticed you. You smiled and walked over to the other side of the car in order to properly say hello.
“Hello, Mr. Kenobi! How’ve you been?” you asked, smiling up at the two old men.
“I’ve been well, enjoying my retirement. You’ve been hanging around this rascal, I hear?” he responded, nodding his head at Kylo. You could tell Kylo was annoyed, as his knuckles turned white around the strap of his backpack, but he held it in as he gave a small smile to his grandfather’s friend.
“Kylo’s been kind enough to offer me rides, and we have some classes together. We’ll actually be working on a project in English together,” you responded, continuing to smile at the men. They both nodded and smiled back.
“Well, we don’t want to hold you up for too long,” Mr. Skywalker said. “We’ll see you at dinner tomorrow, (y/n).”
“I can’t wait! See you tomorrow,” you said before waving goodbye to everyone, making eye contact with Kylo one last time before heading home.
When you got inside, you went to your room immediately, pulling out your phone and dialing Rey’s number. As you stepped into your room, you closed the door behind you before dropping your backpack on your floor and plopping onto your bed. You waited as the phone rang, and soon, Rey picked up.
“Hey, (y/n)!”
“Hey! Sorry I haven’t really talked to you guys recently, I’ve been...dealing with stuff,” you responded.
“Yeah, that makes sense. I was getting worried about you and just wanted to check in,” Rey responded.
“Well, I’ve certainly been better,” you started, the tone of your voice taking a turn. “I’ve somehow been able to cope with everything that’s going on.”
“Did you ever find out what happened?”
With a sigh, you tried to collect yourself as you felt that deep pang in your chest. You trusted Rey, that wasn’t the issue. The issue was that the emotions were still so raw inside of you, but you relented. If you told at least one person in your friend group, then it would get spread around between them, so at least you wouldn’t have to tell the story more than twice.
“Yeah Apparently he and some of the guys in the soccer team went to Corellia for a party. The person who sent me the picture said that he’d seen Shawn with this girl all night, and apparently asked Dylan about them, who said they’d been talking for a month before this,” you said, trying to hold in your tears. You weren’t going to sob, but your tears definitely filled your eyes, threatening to spill and break your streak of having not cried all day.
“Oh, (y/n), I’m so sorry. Have you talked to Shawn?”
“No, and I don’t plan on it. I know that all he wants to do is ask me to take him back, but it isn’t happening. He can go have that girl from Corellia for all I care,” you said, wiping away tears from your eyes before they had the chance to fall down your cheeks.
“You’re probably right. He’s always been really self-absorbed, he probably doesn’t even really think he did anything wrong,” Rey stated. As much as it hurt to hear, her words did ring true. Though you’d never thought it in the year the two of you had been dating, Shawn was incredibly selfish. “Anyways, do you want to come over tomorrow night? Rose, Kaydel, and Jannah are coming over, we’re gonna watch some movies.”
You felt bad, as you thought about rejecting Rey’s offer, but you were so excited for tomorrow, there was no way you could miss it. After all, you had accepted that offer first.
“I wish I could, but I’m staying with Sami Martinez tomorrow night. I’m sorry,” you said, your voice truly apologetic.
“It’s okay! That’s something I wanted to talk to you about to,” Rey said. Instantly, you knew where this was going, and you felt a pang of anxiety run through you. You knew this conversation was going to happen with one of your friends sooner or later, might as well get it over with.
“What’s that?” you asked, trying to feign innocence, but probably failing.
“You’ve been hanging out with Ben Solo a lot, and it has us all pretty worried. I get that you might want to piss off Shawn, and that’s totally valid, but I don’t think hanging out with Ben is the best way to do that,” she said, making you want to sigh heavily. Before any of this was over, you were probably going to hear the same spiel from a million other people.
“Look, Rey, I appreciate you guys looking out for me, but Kylo has been nothing but nice to me all week. Besides, we used to be really good friends. I don’t think he’d do anything hurtful to me,” you assured her.
“That’s not really what I’m worried about, (y/n). He might not intentionally hurt you, but he might influence you to be a different person that you aren’t. He hangs out with bad people, and does a lot of bad things himself. I just don’t want you to be influenced by him to do those kinds of things too.”
The sentiment really pissed you off, admittedly. You knew people felt that way about Kylo, that much you’d expected, but to basically be told you were easily manipulated? That was frustrating. If anyone was likely to manipulate you, it was Shawn, and in fact, he had manipulated you. After all, he’d convinced you that you were just like him. You didn’t want to be the same person you were when you were dating Shawn.
“Listen, I’m going to keep hanging out with Kylo. I love and respect you guys, so I’m asking you to do the same for me. I’m not going to be a drastically different person because I’ve been hanging out with Kylo. I’m going to be a drastically different person because I’m not dating Shawn anymore. Believe it or not, I don’t want to be the same person I was with Shawn, because that person was too dependent on her boyfriend. So, I’m going to keep hanging with Kylo and all of his friends. They’ve been nothing but good to me all week, and they’ve been really accepting. You guys are still my best friends, but I’m asking you to please respect my decision,” you said, trying to keep calm as best as you could.
There was silence for a few moments, as Rey processed what you said to her. Then, there was a sigh.
“Okay, (y/n). Just, please be careful,” Rey finally answered. “I’ll talk to you later. Bye.”
“Bye,” you said before hanging up. Once you did, you grabbed the pillow closest to you, wrapping onto it as tears began to fall from your face, made from a mixture of rage and sadness. You loved your new friends, especially Kylo and Sami. They didn’t judge you, included you in conversation, and made sure you stayed positive. You were so happy to accept them into your life, welcoming the change they brought, but that couldn’t change the fact that you were afraid to lose your old friends. You’d been friends with them for so long, and you trusted all of them deeply. You knew that once you and Kylo began to feign your relationship, a lot of them would probably view you differently. Even though they barely understood what you were going through, you still loved them. You just worried that everything to come might end the friendships you’d enjoyed for so long.
You stared out of the window, the blinds open, giving you a perfect view of the clear sky. As you looked around the cul de sac from your window, you noticed Kylo standing outside, smoking a cigarette as he leaned against his car. Then, as if he could sense you watching him, he turned his head, making eye contact with you. He waved at you, giving you his signature half-smile. You waved back a little unenthusiastic, but you tried to smile back. You saw Kylo look back down as he pulled out his phone. Not long after, you heard your phone buzz, and you picked up your phone, unlocking it to reveal a message from Kylo.
You okay?
You thought about whether or not to be honest as you stared at the keyboard, trying to think of what to say. In the end, you settled on a simple white lie.
Yeah, I’m fine.

- Decisions, Decisions... -
You’ve been picking at your nails for quite some time. They’re a powdery blue-- or they used to be, at least. They were supposed to match your prom dress, though you never did get to go to prom this year. The blue gown is still in your closet, covered by the plastic from the dry cleaners. You frown at the patches of missing polish, having been slowly chipped away for some time since you painted them-- was it two weeks ago? A month? You weren’t sure what time was anymore.
“...But yeah, other than what we brought back, there wasn’t much stuff left over.” Kuroo shrugs as he picks at some granola straight from the bag. You and the group of guys have gathered in a little circle on each other’s mattresses, and have since introduced each other. Aside from Kuroo, Akaashi, and Bokuto, the new boys you’ve met are Oikawa, Iwaizumi, and Kenma. The entire group seems to be weighed down with contented hopelessness-- they all appear to be very aware of their dire situation, but they’re quite alright with it at the moment.
The boy named Iwaizumi sighs-- he’s straightforward and somewhat level-headed, as far as you can tell.
“We’re gonna have to drive further to the next grocery store, then.” Iwaizumi decides, and rubs his neck.
“What’s the matter? Sleep on the wrong side of the bed?” Oikawa, the absurdly pretty one, teases.
“No, I just feel weird since it seems like none of us are gonna talk about our newest addition.” Iwaizumi says pointedly, and finally looks at you. You bite your lip and look away, not quite sure how to explain yourself, either. Why should you expect all of them to just be chill with some stranger suddenly showing up in the middle of the night, sobbing and with a potentially dangerous dog at her side?
“She just introduced herself-- did you forget her name already?” Bokuto says with a laugh. You seriously admire his optimism-- or his cluelessness, you’re not sure which.
“I think Iwaizumi is just suspicious of her.” Akaashi says with a level tone, and he and Iwaizumi exchange a glance.
“Makes sense.” Oikawa shrugs.
“Wha-- How?!” Bokuto exclaims.
“She’s a stranger. She’s got a dog with her-- a dog that could easily hurt us.” Oikawa answers, and Indie perks up when he glances at her with a smile. “But she’s so cute! I don’t think we have to worry about her.”
Akaashi glances at you, and you remember how you told him that Indie did, in fact, attack a boy last night. To be fair, he was an intruder!
“I’m not gonna be here long, if that’s what you’re worried about.” You finally pipe up, and all eyes once again fall on you.
“Huh? Why?!” Both Kuroo and Bokuto say, and you could almost swear they were whining. You laugh a little-- how could they possibly be so attached to you so quickly?
“Well, I’m trying to go to L.A. and find my friend Sami. Then, I’m gonna go to Ohio to live with my friend Callie.” You say evenly, and the entire group looks at you like you’re insane.
“L.A. is… far.” Kenma says quietly, and you’re surprised he’s spoken at all.
“How do you even know your friend is still out there?” Kuroo asks.
“I don’t,” You say, “but I have to at least look. It’s what she’d do for me-- or, it’s what I’d hope she’d do for me. I can’t just… accept that everyone I know and love is gone without looking first.” You become quieter at the last part, and the group seems to understand a bit better.
“Okay,” Bokuto says, “so we just make a trip of it. We pack supplies or whatever, wake up early, and go to L.A. and look around for a couple days. We can camp out in fancy hotels!”
“I’m sorry, we?” You say.
“We’re not gonna let you go alone! Look what happened the last time we left you alone.” Bokuto says as if it’s the most obvious thing. You frown, but he is right. You’re a little scared of being left alone, too, if you’re being honest. Sleeping next to Akaashi made you feel safe, even if you were a bit flustered. Plus, these guys seem to be pretty decent-- none of them have made you uncomfortable so far.
You eat your poptart thoughtfully.
“Why Ohio?” Akaashi asks.
“Well… Callie said, last time we spoke, that her parents were still around.” You respond. “Plus, she lives on a farm. That’ll be way more sustainable than scavenging around grocery stores for the rest of my life.”
“Damn. We should do that.” Bokuto says with a sigh.
“I don’t know how to farm,” Oikawa sighs, then turns to you with a grin. “Maybe we should just come with you to Ohio!”
“That’s… not happening.” You say decisively.
“Aw, why not?” Kuroo croons. “Aren’t we pretty great so far? I feel like Callie would love us. Plus, I’m famous for getting people’s parents to like me.”
“It’s true.” Bokuto says solemnly. You wonder for a moment what kind of story lies behind that exchange, but decide to leave it alone for now.
“It’s gonna take weeks to get to Ohio-- plus, I’m probably gonna have to hop from car to car, since there aren’t any working gas stations anymore, or I’ll just have to suck it up and walk. I’m not about to go on a roadtrip with some dudes I just met-- especially not during the apocalypse.” You say, crossing your arms. Damn, it seems like everything you say makes you seem like a huge bitch-- why were you so against them coming with you, anyway? Maybe you just didn’t want to be responsible for anyone else-- or, maybe you didn’t want to invest your care into one more person, only for them to disappear without a trace, leaving you, once again, alone.
You push that thought away-- that’s too deep for 8 a.m.
“I wouldn’t go on a roadtrip with these guys, either.” Iwaizumi says, and you’re weirdly charmed with how pessimistic he is. His little quip dissolves some of the tension, too, and you’re glad for that.
“I think you’re scared.” Kuroo calls your bluff. You just scoff.
“I’m not scared.”
“You were pretty scared last night, though.” Bokuto adds, unhelpfully. “But, I mean, it’s understandable-- some guys literally broke into your house!”
“Travelling in a group is safer, anyways.” Akaashi says, and you hate that a part of you agrees with him.
You huff out a sigh, and finish off your poptart. “None of you are responsible for me.” You counter.
“True-- but we’re not doing anything else.” Oikawa chimes in, and you’re a bit surprised. “I think it’ll be fun. We can at least go to L.A. together, and that can determine whether you wanna ‘roadtrip’ with us, or not.”
“I like the sound of that.” Kuroo grins. “An experiment.”
“You guys have fun with that-- I’ll stay here.” Kenma mumbles, and Kuroo barks out a laugh.
“No way-- we’re all going.”
“I don’t wanna go, either.” Iwaizumi says, crossing his arms. “Kenma and I should stay behind and protect the gym. Clearly, it’s a little dangerous out there.”
“Good idea!” Bokuto praises, already excited at the prospect of a roadtrip. “This is gonna be fun-- and going to L.A. will be so fast ‘cause there’s no traffic!”
“That’s assuming we find a car with a full tank-- our poor van is barely on half a tank.” Kuroo says.
“Right, that much gas would get us there in the van, but we’d just barely be able to make it back. Plus, we aren’t accounting for how much we’ll have to drive around the city to find Sami…” Akaashi says, his train of thought travelling to the logistics of the operation.
You’re… a little stunned, to say the least. You suppose you can chalk their enthusiasm to go to L.A. with you up to the fact that there really is nothing better for them to do, but… you never expected anyone to be this willing to stick by your side. You’d never had a large circle of friends, especially not in your relatively small town. After your closest friends had moved away, you mostly kept to yourself, perfectly content to have your only friends be the ones you’d known since forever, rather than go through the arduous task of making new ones so close to graduation.
“You guys... don’t have to do this.” You say quietly, having reluctantly accepted that it seems like they’re going to stick by your side, regardless of what you say.
There’s a pause that settles over the group, and Iwaizumi scoffs.
“Like Oikawa said, we’re not doing anything else.” He says, and you smile a little at him.
Another pause settles around the group, but it’s comfortable-- you’re starting to warm up to them, as they’ve clearly warmed up to you. You suppose you’ve given them a change of pace, at least.
“Well, all that aside, we still need to find more food.” Kenma says. “And a mattress for you-- or at least a sleeping bag.” He looks to you, then down at Indie. He offers her his hand, which she licks and nuzzles into happily.
“Don’t you have a mattress back at your house? We can just go get that.” Bokuto says, sitting back against his bed, propping himself up with his elbows.
“I don’t really wanna go back there.” You say quickly. What if those guys were still there? What if more of them flocked to your house because they discovered all of your groceries--?
Oh, shit.
“Oh, shit.” You groan, burying your face into your palms. “My groceries.”
“Your groceries?” Bokuto echos.
“They’re all at my house. All that stuff I got from the grocery store where we met-- Indie’s food, everything.” You say as dread settles over your whole body. “What if those guys are still there?”
Everyone pauses as they consider the situation. They would all benefit from your added supplies-- plus, the trip would allow you to retrieve your bed rather than wander the floors of some abandoned Ikea or Macy’s looking for a replacement. Still, the risk was high. Those guys seemed dangerous, at least to you, and there might be more. Clearly, it wasn’t that outlandish to assume that whoever remained had grouped themselves into survival packs, and that they were willing to do anything to stay alive and fed.
“Okay.” Kuroo stands. “So, we’ll go to your house.”
“Who’s ‘we’?” You ask.
“Me and Bokuto. Just tell us where you live, we’ll go there and get your stuff. Easy peasy.” Kuroo nods, and Bokuto is, of course, up for the challenge.
“...I don’t want you guys to go alone.” You say.
“Relax, it’ll be a quick in and out, you won’t even notice we’re gone.” Kuroo holds his hand out, expecting you to hand him your keys.
You stand and pull your keys out of your pocket, but hold them close to your chest as you build up the courage for what you’re about to say.
“I’m coming with you. I’ll drive, and I’ll get my stuff.” You assert. “You guys have done way too much for me already.”
“Are you sure you’ll be okay?” Bokuto asks, worry plastered all over his face.
You nod, even though your gut is screaming at you not to go back. But, you really don’t have any choice.
“If you’re sure, I think you guys will make it okay.” Akaashi says, ever the voice of reason. It warms your heart to know that Akaashi believes in you. “You guys take her car, and Iwaizumi and I will take the van and look for another grocery store.”
“Aw, you’re gonna leave me and Kenma all alone?” Oikawa whines.
“I’m not excited about it, either.” Kenma mumbles, and you’re starting to love his unexpected sassiness.
“My house is only like fifteen minutes away from here. We’ll be back in an hour, tops.” You assure Oikawa, who only looks at you skeptically. Finally, he shrugs.
“Sure, do what you want.” Oikawa says, then gets up and stretches. “I’ll just practice by myself…” He mutters, and you’re not sure what he’s referring to-- maybe volleyball, like Kuroo had mentioned when you first met.
At the moment, you don’t really care. You turn to Kuroo and Bokuto with a feigned grin of confidence.
“Okay, let’s do this.”
[-]
“No shit.” Kuroo smiles in recognition as you turn the final corner onto your street. “Bokuto, Asahi’s place is right over there.”
“Oh, no way!” Bokuto grins as he follows the pointed finger of Kuroo, in the direction of a house that looks very similar to yours, except with a brown roof instead of a red one.
“One of your friends?” You ask, trying to ignore how much you’re fidgeting. You’re so nervous, and you hate it. This is your home, after all-- you shouldn’t be so terrified of returning. You glance out the window and take note of how overcast the sky has become. In the early morning, the sun was peaking through the clouds, but it has since been covered up in a thick layer of gray. Everything seems to be lacking in color.
“Yeah, he was a kickass player.” Kuroo says as you drive by the house in question. “Can we stop by there on our way back?”
“Sure.” You say tightly. Will you even make it back? What if you die??
“Hey, relax.” Kuroo says, and you glance over to him, sitting like a damn king in your passenger seat. He had to push the chair back quite a ways to account for his leg space, much to the complaint of Bokuto in the back seat.
“I am relaxed.” You lie, and resume biting the inside of your cheek. You’re sure that your mouth is raw by now, and you’re not surprised when you taste the beginnings of the metallic tang of blood from your worrying. You puff out your cheeks to try and stop yourself from biting any further.
Kuroo laughs at the display, and you smile back, a bit embarrassed.
In no time at all, you park by the curb in front of your house. You don’t turn the engine off just yet, opting to observe the now threatening building for a moment in case someone suddenly jumps from your door with a gun or something. A flash of red hair recalls itself from your memories, and you grip the steering wheel tighter with a big sigh. Nothing’s there-- you’re freaking out for no reason, you remind yourself.
You turn off the car and pick up your hammer that’s been resting in the cup holder.
“You ready?” Kuroo asks, and you’ve been aware of his gaze on you this whole time. You’re glad he’s at least receptive to your hesitance, and you’re also glad that he and Bokuto are with you. They’re both pretty strong and athletic, and with your hammer combined, you three make a pretty strong team.
That’s what you have to tell yourself, anyway.
“Yeah. Yeah, let’s go.” You give a curt nod, and the three of you exit the car quickly, walk across your lawn, and soon you’re met with your front door. It looks like it was kicked in, with splinters of painted wood littering your porch and the hardwood floors just inside. Kuroo kicks a piece of wood aside absently, and enters first.
“Hello?” He calls with a booming voice.
“What are you doing?” You hiss, grabbing onto his jacket sleeve with ferocity.
“Just seeing if we have the place to ourselves.” He replies coolly, and looks around, surveying the rest of your home. It’s definitely been ransacked-- your mother’s favorite vase is shattered, papers litter the floor, and every single drawer and cabinet has either been ripped from its hinges, or lays hanging open.
“Seems we are.” Kuroo muses quietly after several moments of silence as the three of you take in your sad surroundings.
You can’t believe the home you grew up in has been violated like this-- you can’t believe that a person can be so heartless as to destroy something to this degree. You can’t believe the world is actually like this now. Gripping Kuroo’s sleeve tighter, you suppose that’s just what the world has come to.
“Um… so, where did you leave your groceries?” Bokuto asks, and it’s the first time you’ve heard him being so gentle. You blink up at him only to realize how watery your eyes are, and you quickly blink away any tears that might threaten to fall. You release Kuroo’s sleeve, quickly wipe at your nose, and nod to your kitchen, just beyond the living room you stand in.
The stairs are to your right, and you want to go upstairs to try and salvage anything else you might need, but you’re not sure if you’re ready to brave whatever situation lies above yet.
Bokuto walks towards the kitchen. You and Kuroo follow, and your heart sinks as the three of you are met with an empty table.
The dog food is still there, though.
“Damn it. They took everything.” Your shoulders slump, and you feel really disappointed. You’ve effectively wasted their time and valuable gas in your car just to get supplies that weren’t there. “Sorry.”
“Huh? Don’t apologize.” Kuroo says, and picks up the dog food with a grunt. “We can still get your bed and check around to see if there’s anything else. I’m gonna put this in the car.”
You three spend about an hour there in total, the sky darkening in a bizarre way-- you’d never seen the weather change this much before. In no time at all, and right when you three were ready to move your mattress to the van, it begins pouring rain. Bokuto groans, and runs his fingers through his spiked hair in frustration.
“Maybe if we run fast enough--” You try, but Kuroo shakes his head.
“Your bed’ll get soaked. I don’t really wanna risk it, anyways.” He leans your bed on the wall beside the stairs, and flops down on your couch. “We can just wait it out.”
The rain thunders above you, and you’re almost worried your roof won’t be able to weather the storm, judging by how severely the trees are bent in the wind. You cross your arms, the chill really starting to get to you on account of your busted front door.
“Man, do you have any blankets around here?” Bokuto whines, and you laugh. Your once cosy home offers no insulation at all, so you get up and go to the linen closet. Worried you might find empty shelves, you’re relieved to find it’s been untouched. You suppose blankets were last on those guys’ list-- but it makes you satisfied thinking they might be freezing their asses off somewhere in this unexpected weather.
You return to the couch, and the three of you huddle under the fuzzy blankets. Kuroo invites you to scoot closer to him, but you hesitate. A gust of wind thunders through your front door, and that’s all it takes to convince you to huddle closer. His arm drapes over your shoulders, reminding you once again how small you are compared to them. Bokuto joins you on your opposite side, extremely comfortable with such close contact. Your heart’s racing, because you’ve never been sandwiched between two incredibly hot guys before. You take a deep breath, and you’re glad you left Indie back at the gym, because at least she can stay somewhere that’s dry.
It’s a few hours before the storm lets up, but as soon as the rain just barely begins to lessen, Kuroo shakes you and Bokuto from your naps. Your head was resting on his shoulder, and his head was resting on top of yours-- and as you bashfully scoot away from him, you realize just how warm he is from the sudden absence of heat.
The three of you haul your bed into the van, and decide to pile into the car and officially give up on what little else your home could offer you. After snagging a good deal of your clothes, all the soap you could find, some hair brushes and toothbrushes, you’ve got to accept that your ransacked house isn’t useful anymore.
You park in Asahi’s driveway, and ask Kuroo why exactly he wanted to stop here, to which Kuroo laughs, a little embarrassed.
“Well… before this all went down, I left my whole stash with Asahi because my parents were getting suspicious, and I didn’t think I could get away with hiding it in my house for a bit.”
“Stash?” You furrow your brow, and Kuroo and Bokuto exchange a mischievous glance. It takes you a second, but since you’ve gone to public school your whole life, you understand pretty quickly. “Ohhh,” You laugh, bashful that you didn’t get it at first.
The two boys tell you to wait in the car, so you keep the engine running while they go inside as if they owned the place. You guess they must’ve been pretty close to Asahi, considering how familiar they are with his home.
Maybe ten or fifteen minutes pass before you’re startled by Kuroo and Bokuto booking it out of the house to tumble into your car. Kuroo whisper-yells at you to “Gogogogogo!” and you’re zooming down the flooded road once again.
Your heart hammers in your chest, and you demand what the hell just happened. Kuroo and Bokuto laugh in that way a person does after they can’t believe they just escaped certain death, and the dark-haired boy holds up a sizeable baggie stuffed with weed with an apologetic smile.
“Don’t freak out, but… I think we ran into your boys back there.”
